They don't use these odds anymore. 5/2 would be $3.50

So Stagger's original odds would be:

Etu Uasele $7.00
Taulima Tautai $11.00
Tony Williams $19.00
Matt Raftery $26.00
Kris Keating $5.00
Matt Keating $3.00
Brendon Oake $11.00
Joe Gulavao $3.50
Tim mannah $16.00
Brod Wright $27.00

I think he is a little generous on some of these, I would have them more like:

Etu Uasele $6.00
Taulima Tautai $8.00
Tony Williams $21.00
Matt Raftery $51.00
Kris Keating $3.50
Matt Keating $1.80
Brendon Oake $6.00
Joe Gulavao $2.00
Tim mannah $21.00
Brod Wright $51.00

I think it will all come down to whether Piggy lasts long enough to allow Galuvao or even Oake (could be a bench player Rnd 1) to get on before Matt Keating. Kris Keating is an outside chance and the only way Etu or Tautai would get it would be an injury to an outside back as Reddy would be favoured to get that position.

The others you could almost write your own price because they are not likely to be selected for round 1. Tim Mannah and Tony Williams are shorter due to the fact they have a possibility of coming on with the NYC replacement rule, whereas Brod Wright and Raferty cannot.

a much better game is betting on who'd become player 700. sounds much better

This is much harder but I would probably go like this:

Etu Uasele $4.00
Taulima Tautai $4.00
Tony Williams $8.00
Matt Raftery $21.00
Kris Keating $2.00
Matt Keating $11.00
Brendon Oake $4.00
Joe Gulavao $11.00
Tim mannah $11.00
Brod Wright $21.00

There are probably others that could be added to the list.

Hey Engineer, you obviously aren't a punter if you expect us to bet into a market of over 150%.

Stagger's market was slightly better value for punters but I wouldn't get carried away about it either...

I just thought that Stagger's odds on players like Keating and Galuvao were way too generous.

I believe it is almost a two horse race. I could alter the odds a little:

Etu Uiasele $26.00
Taulima Tautai $31.00
Tony Williams $51.00
Matt Raftery $101.00
Kris Keating $5.00
Matt Keating $2.20
Brendon Oake $8.00
Joe Galuvao $2.20
Tim mannah $51.00
Brod Wright $101.00

Is that any better?

Still a bit stingy mate - need to ease out Joe g to $3.00 at least, and Kris K to $6.00 or so ...

Although if the hit on Piggy is successful before the season starts, Matt Keating is going to be unbackable!

I've been thinking about posting this for a while and with Round 1 just over 2 weeks away I thought I'd raise a "dummy" market on who willl follow Weller Hauraki [#697] in the clubs illustrious firstgrade list,

so without further ado he's Stags Market for Eels play #698.

Etu Uasele 6/1
Taulima Tautai 10/1
Tony Williams 18/1
Matt Raftery 25/1
Kris Keating 4/1
Matt Keating 2/1 [favourite]
Brendon Oake 10/1
Joe Gulavao 5/2
Tim mannah 15/1
Brod Wright 26/1

thisa is likely to change after Saturday night so I'll reasses it again on about Monday ;-)

Update list as follows..

* Etu has drifted to $8.00 due to no injuries in the outside backs and the fact that he ran around for Wenty on sunday.

* Taulima $18.00

* tony Williams $18.00

* Matt Raftery $30.00

* Kirs Keating $10.00

* Matt Keating almost unbackable favourite at $1.80

* Brendon oake, on the back of a big game on the weekend $8.00

* Joe Gulavao drifted to $7.00

* Tim Mannah stays at $15.00

* Brod Wright $45.00

Taulima would have drifted right in with the news of Hayne being axed.

Tautai $1.01

Galuvao $1.25

Oake and Keating for player #700 $1.01

I reckon Etu is the big winner out of the potential hayne ban .... Etu (the superstar) to the wing

Hayne out for round 1 makes this a two horse race, Etu or Tautai with the outside chance being Tony Williams.

One of them will have to play unless Wagon moves to the centres and that would be the only chance anyone else will have.

Tautai $1.40
Uiasele $2.20
Williams $11.00
Keating $21.00
Galuvao $21.00
The rest are $101.00

So it isn't official?

Mine are only theoretical but that is what I would think if Hayne and Ben Smith are definately unavailable

Can I have $10 on Taulima and $10 on Etu?
