I think Clark will be very careful this match, like players this close to semis, a bad game by a ref could see him miss out on the finals, remember only 4 refs first week then down to 2, so standing up to a intimadating crowd, would certainly be a big plus comes semis as first week there is home matches.

Not published, but you will notice that only 4 refs have been given friday night matchs before htis weekend, Clark,Hampstead,Simpkins and Mander.

This week Tony Archer gets a friday night game, he must be impressing Robert Finch, he and Russell Smith would be pushing the 4 before mentioned refs for finals matches

We have to get on top of Newcastle early & take the crowd out of the equation - they do go very quiet when behind but are very vocal if they get a sniff.
Otherwise Clark is a home town ref & the crowd will suck a few penalties from him.

We need to be there in numbers to make a bit of noise ourselves. Dont make the trip up the freeway expecting to get ticketsat the gate. It may well be a sell out, so book ahead.

I hope we clean up our ruck play because we concede SO MANY BLOODY penalties around the ruck area... and this adds way too much pressure onto the side, and forces them to defend for extra sets of 6...

If anyone listened to the abc radio today you would've heard Warren Ryan's criticism of Steven Clarke as a refferee. Ryan doesn't rate him as a top class refferee and he doesn't like his attitude towards the players and also reckons the players don't like him and don't rate him. Also Craig ? said he called the game last night and thought Clarks treatment of Kimmorley was wrong and he said the try scored off that penalty tap should have been called back. He said the arrogance of Clarke towards the players was a concern and Kimmorley has a right to ask a question as captain. The ABC state that Clarke should not refferee any of the semi's, they want Russell Smith before him.
