Anderson Eyeing NRL Comeback

Former Australian coach, Chris Anderson is eyeing an NRL comeback after making himself available following the termination of his contract with Newport Gwent Dragons.

Anderson, who has taken both Canterbury and Melbourne to premiership success as well as English Super League club Halifax has surcome recent drama following his dismissal from the Cronulla Sharks as well as not be reappointed Australian coach in 2003. Following his departure Anderson knocked back offers from the South Sydney Rabbitohs and New Zealand Warriors to establish himself in Welsh rugby union. Under his control Newport started out well winning their first three competition games but the cracks started to appear as they only won one of their last seven games.

Anderson made many current NRL favourites like Brett Kimmorley, Scott Hill and Phil Bailey into international players and blooded new talent like Steve Price, Aaron Moule and Glenn Hughes.

It is widely speculated that Manly will take Anderson aboard their ranks at seasons end if current coach Des Hasler can not bring success to the once proud Manly Sea Eagles. Also under pressure Warriors coach Tony Kemp may find himself replaced by Anderson if his team does not perform this year.

Chris Anderson is set to return home in the next few weeks to be with his family.

I love my club a great deal but i would walk away while that low merkin was coaching us. As i said today at mightyeagles, signing his contract to coach us would be like signing the last rights for our club. He left every club hes been out in worse condition than it was when he got there.

You would think he would get a gig in the Rugby Super League.

I don't think anyone in the NRL will touch him, especially since the Rabbitohs have found a fine coach.

His record isnt too bad compared to most coaches going around at the moment.A title in 95 with the Dogs amidst turmoil,Melbourne premiers 2nd year in the comp and to take arguably the worst Kangaroo teams [in player strength] to a 3 -nil white wash of GB.Thats a pretty impressive CV but now he is unemployable?

Glenn hughes? Talent like glenn hughes?????? talent and glenn hughes should never be used in the same f**king sentence... except for glenn hughes has no talent or is talentless..... biggest waste of space ever to pull on the blue and white

I wouldnt mind it if anderson came and coached a flegg side at the dogs

I can't believe anyone takes things posted by The Whippet seriously. That alleged "story" has so many holes in it it's not funny, not to mention the terrible spelling and grammar mistakes, and of course no link to the reference.

I can never, ever believe anything The Whippet posts because he is ALWAYS posting false news.

I wouldn't mind if he came to Manly if Hasler doesn't get results. Andersons record speaks for itself. Officals get offside with him because he takes the lime-light away from them when the team wins.

I think we should create a "Rebecca Wilson thread" so that we can keep track of this idiots "predictions" over the year....

I'm betting the amount of stories she would get correct in her gossip column would be one in a hundred...
