So what your saying is that if your company got into financial difficulty because of what a manager did, you then went to the press & told them how you think this guy should be manager because he won't lose vast sums of money, your compnay would be happy?
That is ridiculous. It is not free speech or democracy when it comes to company law. If it was, they would all die horrible deaths from within.

& Kimmorleys future is certain. He is signed for another 4 years on one of the biggest & longest deals in the NRL.
So with his future guaranteed, it is none of his business(to comment publicly on)

Didn't Anderson also sign a long-term contract?

I never said the company would be happy... I only said that everyone's entitled to their opinion. Even your company guy above. As long as he's not revealing company secrets or giving competitors an advantage, then he's well within his rights.

The brand of tea in the smoko room is a company secret!
I don't know which company you are with, but I am with a few large ones & nothing, nothing , nothing goes to the press unless through the PR department. If it does, you are in the shyte.
Workers have the right of free speech & employers have the right to sack those who use it.

i think you will find the NRL encourages press interaction

i think you will also find this has been going on for some time now

players and coaches give interviews and press conferences all the time without referal to a PR department

Isn't that a contradiction?

But look - let's agree to disagree. I understand what you're saying, and what you don't want to hear players say. I just personally prefer to be able to hear the truth and not some PR person's version of it. Particularly if it's only an opinion.

Put it this way, if you heard every player on the team say they want Ando to coach next season, wouldn't you want him to stay?

If I heard every one of them say they want him out, I'd be the first to back them up.

But it doesn't look like that's the case.

I don't think I really need to spell it out for guys.
Kimmorley has been told he is not allowed to comment on the coaching position at the Sharks until managment have resolved the situation & spoken to Chris Anderson.
Kimmorley can comment on whatever he likes about any games he plays, holidays, injuries etc.
He is not allowed to go to the press & reveal the game plan(wow big secret that one).
He is not allowed to comment on team selections i.e. "we'd stand more of chance of winning if Peach did not try & take the ball off me sometimes. I think Chris should drop him"
etc. etc. etc.
can this finish now?

no

kimmorley is on a kangaroo tour and is an employee of the nrl

he has a duty to give press interviews and stating support for the current coach does not qualify as commenting on cronullas crisis IMO

i may be wrong

but it isnt likely that the sharks will fire kimmorley based on a "i am happy to play under ando" comments despite the hysteria of your reaction to it

ARL actually.

& he can comment on ARL matters all he likes.

But he is under clear instructions to not talk about for himself or on behalf of anyone else, about the Sharks coaching issue.

BTW, two players who had a lot to lose this year did remarkably well to not comment to the media, even after they finished their employment.
It wasn't until a bag of lies was promoted by the coach did one respond through the media.
Its a simple task. Keep your big mouth shut Kimmorley & play football for the Sharks for which you are being paid an enormous amount of money.

However, BTR, what goes around comes around in the corporate governance stakes these days and Directors constantly crossing the line from non-executive to executive management (i.e. sticking their noses in when they have no right to) and breaching corporate confidentiality are just as big no-nos as employees not obeying instructions. Fact is, the Board has set an absolutlely appalling example in this whole saga in the quality of the contract they presumably endorsed with CA, their media leaks, their sticking their nose into management of CA, team selcetions pushes, etc etc etc. The Board manages the CEO (SR) and it is up to the CEO to manage the rest of the staff. As a Director if you want to preach to employees (i.e. players, coaches, etc) about good corporate behaviour, make sure your own is squeaky clean and this bunch are down in the pit with everyone else.

I agree with everything you say OBIWON.

Too windy at the beach.
Been to the Gym this morning, pumped myself up, go down to Cronulla surf club, & there is half of the NRL there. Longy, Omeley, Ryan etc etc.
felt like Mr puniverse next to those monsters.
Have to find a new beach.

Let's hope Ando gets to fulfil his contract with the Sharks also.

And if we're talking about keeping big mouths shut, then everyone currently taking starring, leaky roles in the Sharkies Soap Opera take note.

If only they all said as little as BK...

Another thing, Sully. Ever been into a football dressing room after a match.

Wouldnt that be funny, I've been into the Sharks dressing room on numerous occasions after a game and it's NOT PRETTY. Naked footballers walking around everywhere, I remember one time when I was knee high to a grasshopper 'small fry' Mitch Healey walked out of the shower so I turned to shield my eyes and came face to face with Les Davidson's pecker. The experience still haunts me.

Somehow I don't think that Sully or Birdy would be that scary. :?
