Ando marching all the way to the Supreme Court

Can you explain to me why the board would at any time in power risk the financial stability of the club if they weren't certain of a result?

Because they are incompetent.

Nothing is certain with courts. Just look at yesterdays headline in the Tele where a guy was acquited for sexual assualt on a child because he was drunk!

They had better hope for a quick, quite settlement out of court

The fact is that 6months ago Anderson came out with those words 'sack me or back me' and the board in there rightful minds decided to back him.
So what changed the sacking of his son, how could he not get upset about
that.
I think it would be settled out of court.... It always happens in cases of compensation.

The board backed him because they weren't in a postion to sack him at that stage. After the whole Ando jr affair they were. If they could have sacked 12 months earlier they would have.

Why would they have sacked him twelve months earlier, Cronulla were 1 game away from the Grand Final?????

Everyone seems to focus on the Cronulla Board as though it were a simple case of them against Anderson.
Consider the board of club sponsors. Would you want to financially support a club that was so publicly self-destructing?
If the board hadn't got rid of Chris Anderson, wouldn't we still be having all this drama in 2004? And if that's the case would we still have a sponsor?
I'm not at all privy to the dealings but I suspect that even with a $1M+ law suit they might have gone the cheaper way.

Absolutely. There is no certainty that Ando will win, or that if he does win, it will be as large as he wants. I think 400K is fair and likely.

Just look at yesterdays headline in the Tele where a guy was acquited for sexual assualt on a child because he was drunk!
That was just disgusting. If you can be found to be responsible for driving a car when you're so drunk you can't walk, why can't you be responsible for any other crime? This magistrate should be relieved of duty immediately.

Amen. Amen. Amen.

Apparently there are people here who don't want me to spell it out, but there were reasons for the board wanting to sack Ando that had nothing to do with on field performances atleast 12 months ago. These are just things that I have learnt recently and they are only by word of mouth, not necessarily fact.

Didn't things start to go bad when Anderson ordered officials off the team bus in NZ?
