According to Sports Tonight, Ando's case started in the Supreme Court today. He's seeking $1.3m for wrongful dismissal.

I think that CA would have destroyed the club if he had another 3 years here. He did a damn good job of it in just 2 years, as it was!!

The Cronulla Leagues Club pays the players, NOT CA. Likewise any contract that is signed is signed by the Sharks admin. They also get to decide IF they DO or DONT want certain players, NOT CA (or any coach for that matter)

Maybe the Sharks used CA to bring certain players here, before removing the Cancer that was infecting us all!!

Like I said, pay him what he wants. Lets start with a clean slate for 2004 and not another drama charged year because of a court case involving, guess who?... that again keeps us in the papers for all the wrong reasons.

If they go to court it's more money and we lose its more money with his costs also, plus more negative press all year...

They should just come out and say... "We have decided to pay CA the amount he requests. He has disrupted this Club for 2 years now and the sooner we can move on from this mistake, the better"...

Anyway, he will be finished from coach for a while, as he is yet to leave a club on good terms and any club considering hiring him will think LONG AND HARD!!

Aries, just because the club pays the bills, doesnt mean that the coach and his staff dont recruit, or atleast at the very least, have a massive say in their desired roster. Though i will admit that sludge has played a huge part in roster recruitment.

seriously though ....as much as i was a staunch ando supporter. you'd have to say that his 1.3mil payout has f**k all chance of happening. 1st and foremost is the fact that he received 3 legit(seemingly) dismissal warning notices, and secondly is the performance(fairly piss poor at that) based side of his contract.

I'd give him 3-350 just to shut him the f**k up and send on his bike. He's dreaming if he thinks he's entitled to 1.3

If Barry Pierce and co have an ounce of commom sense they will negotiate a settlement with Anderson. As stated earlier the legal expenses will be horrific - forget $1.3mill, it will go way over $2mill easy. Put the pride aside boys and look after the club's money.

He will win something. My understanding of unfair dismissal laws is that you can't just sack someone after the 3 breaches unless you provide guidance and training etc. Did the Sharks do this? I don't know. He must be confident to ask for the full amount. Have the sharks got something up their sleeve. Hopefully we only have to give him a third of that amount any way.

This could screw us severely. They should have offered him some form of reduced settlement at the time. Will be an interesting case though as all the facts come out.
