Ando's Dragons mole spotted? Another Northies thread

My main worry is that Ando is a hateful, spiteful, vengeful, venomous little troll who will be in Bailey's ear about how evil Cronulla is.

Sculthorpe .....no chance though, to a big name like him, the aussie dollar would be nothing more than pocket money

Dont get me wrong though, i reckon bailey could be a hugely important part of the team. I just wish he'd pull his head from his sphinc and get his priorities right

Not if someone retires.

Of course you're referring to the rumour where Stevo will retire and we'll lure Scully down to play 5/8th. As far as I'm concerned it holds as much weight as the rumours that we were going to sign Scott Hill, Robbie Kearns, Stephen Kearney and the rest of the Melbourne Storm when Chris Anderson signed up.

I'd be happy if it happened, but I'm very doubtful.

What is Stevo on? 400k a year? If he retires and Bailey goes that leaves over 600k to chase him. I know he likes Stuey, and I know he wants to prove himself in the greatest competition in the world. It's not that ridiculous.

Not that rediculous at all. But do we WANT to spend 600K - ie. more than Joey Johns gets - to lure a player completely untested in the NRL? It'd be a massive risk.

If we can con him to sign up for whatever Stevo's contract is worth then I think it'd be a more likely possibility. But I don't see us shelling out ludicrously massive wads of cash.

It's all speculation anyway, but hey I like to dabble. Is 600k too much for an international 5/8th? I think I'd give him 500k. Noddy, Sculthorpe, Vagana & Peachey in our backline sounds mighty tasty.

He's not just a 5/8th either. He can play there, centre, lock or second row too. Like I said, it's just speculation but time will tell. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Beatties might be gone too don't forget his off contract this year. Lots of free cash but I really doubt we would get him.

Why don't we just gut half the team to accommodate him? :p

Seriously though, Stevens, Beattie, Peachey and Bailey will all be playing for contracts this year. If Stevo and Beatts have another year like last year I'd like to see us put some effort into signing a good front rower (Stringer?) and then we can worry about where to throw our dollars around after that.

 I still think we will end up with Stringer next year and Beattie to some other club. I'd rather keep Beattie myself and develop Newton. Stringer doesn't seem to show much heart at souths. He puts in on the field but off the field he bitches a lot...

Yeah you would think we'd need atleast 350-400K to get Scully.

Anyway we don't need a 5/8, he'd have to play lock, where we already have Hilder, Bird and Russo.

Ali, despite your admiration of Aitken, I think the lack of an established 5/8 is the glaring deficiency in our team right now.

He might be good in the long run but right now he will struggle in firsts I reckon.

Well well well

I raise this as the Dregs are clearing the trash (their waterboy) and going to install a coach

Guess who I spotted tonight?

Mr anti-tampering deadline Phillip Bailey and Mr evil duck face Chris Anderson. At Northies. Enjoying a leisurely drink together.

Isnt it fabulous that Mr Bailey would have a nice drink with the man who is threatening the folks who pay his wages? Brazenly in Cronulla. Would you see legends Sludge or ET having a beer with this grub who wants his hands on our cash that he didnt earn? Unlikely. dOpes left early tonight and Bailey stayed all night.

If Bailey is the mole I'd prefer him gone prior to the 2004 season. If his heart is with his dearly beloved, why doesnt he follow him across to the dark side of the river over there at the Dragons, or down to the Illawarra, or the SFS or whatever location their home ground chocolate wheel lands on these days? Whatever is convenient on 'any given Sunday'?

If Anderson is going to sue our proud club he could at least keep his grubby mitts off our players. If Bailey had any passion for this club he'd steer well clear of that parasite Chris Anderson.

There's a debate starter. Am I reading too much into this?

Great stuff SS

DUMB & DUMBESS will now have it in their gossip columns next week... :?
