Nobody is saying Fifita or Meninga shouldn't visit anyone in prison or support them when they are paroled/released are they ?

How is Mal's brother relevant to the discussion about Fifita writing a message of support on his wrist during multiple NRL matches ?
Because meninga held a press conference, during origin week, where he said he was joyed at his brothers realise.
While Fifita wrote a cryptic private message for himself on his wrist, and didn't actually say anything publicly about the matter ( until hounded by the media into releasing a statement where he said he didn't condone his Mates actions, that he has sympathy for the deceased's family) yet both are treated as polar opposites by the media and rugby league authorities.

It does smell a bit like that. Have you heard about how he grew up in western Sydney where everyone is poor criminals?

I have, but I highly doubt it's as rough as where I grew up tbh.

But alas, Fifita is a Westside G who is emulating Hip-Hop culture.

When Ma'u and Takairangi put on the jail jumpsuits and made light of the convict lifestyle, the powers that be at Parra came out and downplayed it by saying "I expect it's just a reference to gangster rap music, the boys are all into that kinds of music". So to them that made it OK. Well they were drawing the longest bow ever by blaming their behaviour on rap. That sh*t had nothing to do with Hip-Hop.

Fifita's behaviour in this instance is completely influenced by Hip-Hop. There's zero doubt that the F stood for free, anyone thinking otherwise is either naive or clutching at straws.

Here are some examples of the culture which directly influenced Fifita to do what he did:

It may very well be that the F stands for Free, but you can't categorically say it was unless Fifita says it was.

Mal's press conference where he essentially said (on my interpretation) "I support rapists and murderers" was way more in your face than Fifita's wrist bands.

I found Mal's statements confronting and I am horrified.

What about:

"Free Willy"
"Free the Bali 9" or
"For Sale" or
"Jews for Jesus"

This isn't necessarily a gangster thing. It could be any number of things.

I don't besmirch Mal for the press conference either. It seems he was responding to media inquiries and I think his response is appropriate in the circumstances. I just think Fifita should be treated the same way.

Perhaps it NRL was prepared to let it go after he made that public statement, but then he recently come out and say he had no regrets and would do it again. Not too bright. That probably pissed the NRL off. Still, the fact that the investigation is taking an unprecedented length of time suggests to me that the NRL are trumping up some sort of charge on him.

Nobody is suggesting he "kick his mate to the Kerb "

As I asked you before Surely would you be cool with one of your staff in your pubs uniform being broadcast nation wide with messages of support for a coward punch killer ?

As has also been said nobody is saying don't visit your mate in jail

Nobody is saying don't write to him/accept his calls/put cash into his account

What is being said is when at work adhere to the uniform policy of your employer and or bringing the game into disrepute

I wouldn't care , I doubt I'd employ a rapist or head stomper though.

Keep ignoring the impact in favour of the (supposed) intention.

Its a funny way to get somebody freed , write some obscure initials on your strapping and hope somebody notices and works out what it is.

Wouldn't it be easier just to say free Keiran Loveridge every time you get interviewed after a match ?

How about visiting them in prison trying to sign them to a contract before they are released ?

So it doesn't matter what fifita intent was, it all comes back to what people make up in their own minds what it means?

Nope, just the family of the victim. And the fact that the NRL would rather their players don't put messages supporting convicted criminals on their playing gear when they are representing the organisation.

Pretty simple really.

Well Mal holding a press conference during origin week to say he is supporting his brother in his release is him supporting rape and murder (using the same logic the anti-fifita brigade are using).
Has that happened? Or are we playing make-believe?
He should be sacked because i came up with that in my own mind, his press conference had that 'impact' on me

Who is saying Fifita should be sacked?
