Andrew Johns Vs Allan Langer?

History has marked Johns as the best player to ever play the game, so I guess naturally he is the better halfback? If that is so, how close to Johns do you rate Langer?

I always thought Stuart was underrated in his day too. Langer got the jump on him early and Stuart could never quite close the gap. Stuart had the longer kicking and passing game. Langer's soft touch with boot on ball is unrivaled though, only maybe by Johns.

Langer and Stuart were very much equals, both played the game very differently and equally as good as each other. I personally can't stand the raiders and NSW, but certainly respect the player that Stuart was, shit coach though ;-)

Stuarts long passing game was something special to watch, as was Langer's short game. If it wasn't for the fact Australia had the likes of Lewis, Fittler, and Daley kicking around in the 6, a pairing of Langer and Stuart in the halves together would have been a sight to behold.

All great players. Johns unquestionably the best. Langer ahead of Stuart for mine.

People will bring up Alfie couldn't throw a spiral pass both sides of his body or didn't have the kicking game but nobody in my time dominated the comp on a week to week basis as much.....although Can Smith is getting there.

Unlike Thurston he actually stood up in the big games.

If I remember correctly, he didn't have them both on the field at the same time. He had them playing 40 minutes each.

The raiders backline in the early 90'ss was just so beautiful to watch. I miss those days, with those deep set spread out backlines, and when all came off to pull off a set pay. I haven't seen such brilliant offensive play since I don't think.

lb 4 lb Langer has to be the best of all time. the dude was 5 ft 5! Wasn't afraid to take the line on either.
