He officially loses his job this Friday anyway when his contract ends. Hasn't played since 2012 and unlikely to get an extension.

So you should lose your job for stating an opinion? wow so forward thinking..

outside of work you should be free to walk the streets in a Klan outfit if you wished. Unless its illegal your employer can't do shit.

Well start going out in a f**king Klan outfit and see how long you keep your job:roll:.

And yes, most professional clubs will punish players for being dickheads outside of work.

I bet if some no-name player came out with a similar opinion piece about indigenous Australians or women or Australian soldiers or some other shit that he'd be pulled into line.

Every workplace I have worked at, they've had specific policies in place regarding denigration of people on the basis of their religion/gender/sexual orientation. A lot of workplaces would regard voicing an unpopular opinion on a touchy topic as unprofessional.

On Mundine, I'd have thought by now that everyone would have caught on to the fact that he will say whatever he can to get his melon in the papers. His hypocrisy knows no boundaries, particularly pertaining to racism, he was odds on to come out with something like this. For mine, it is far from surprising.

Whether he has a message or not Webster, like so many journos these days, makes the mistake of thinking he is worthy of a story.

I am just not interested in the lives of journos.

Just tell me the news.

This. Why is it brave? It seems those he works and associates with know and that it wasn't a secret. He is no more brave than Stig (even if Stig is an ape).

You're here. You're queer. We don't care.

It will get to this point eventually, generally speaking Gen Y and younger are all progressive, and have friends/family who are gay so it's not a big deal for them and the "issues" surrounding homosexuality are in fact not relevant for them.

Too true. A lot of people in my generation are too progressive for my liking though; they think they know f**king everything about the world.

I remember a couple of so years ago he started swearing at someone on twitter because they called him out on being a closet Union/anti-NRL fan, before he quickly deleted that tweet. Must have hit a big nerve in him

Hard to take ppl like him, Rebecca Wilson et al seriously.
