anyone seen it yet? i went today and saw it at the movies....

this may contain spoilers!.

the movie was semi ok....but FMD they have change crucial parts of the book to fit the movie, i know you cant have every aspect of the book in a 2 hour movie...but to take out Vittorias dad and Koehler (sp), change the carmelengo's name, the bbc reporter and camerwomen are not in it either. the 4th cardinal(Water) survives!!! ffs...how can they take out these important factors? even olivetti wasnt as prominent as he is in the book..the "hassassin" is sh*t too...he dies from a car bomb  and is a skinny tall wanker...

meh.

Lol Vittoria's dads murder is how the whole book starts, how could they leave that out. Just gives me more incentive to not see it.

yeah her "workmate" gets killed and has his eye taken out. you only see CERN at the start...its how the anti matter gets produced by the collider. thats the only time you hear about it.

i wish i hadnt seen the movie. compared to the book its terrible. as a stand alone its ok...not great. seemed to be very rushed.

I'm currently reading the book, but i seriously doubt i'll ever see the movie. Tom Hanks is a nothing actor, i cant stand the guy. He has as much charisma as a dead fish.

I didnt have too much of a problem with it being a workmate rather then her dad, perhaps to save time with the emotional/grieving aspect? The catalyst for her being there remains but leaves out time wasted lamenting her fathers loss I guess...

As for the bbc reporter and cameraman ill be honest I havent read the book for a while but was their plotline that important? I seem to recall not, and introducing them, hacing scenes with them just adds time to an already longer than average movie. Again I was fine with it.

Well yeah the bbc crew were pretty important ...i mean that was more of a sub plot that was going on...not quite as important as the other things they left out tho.

yeah i can see what your saying about making it a workmate...but i would prefer the movie go for an extra 30 mins -hour and add those important factors...IMO. i only just read the book the past few weeks..that probably wasnt a great idea. because everything is fresh in my mind and i was picking up things that were wrong all through-out.

so in other words it's exactly like the davinici code movie where they seemed to be rushing through everything to get to the point

It wasn't as boring as The Da Vinci Code. I haven't read either of the books btw. Two stars from me. Margaret?

best thing about this movie was the Hassassin, pity it left out the origin of hassassin.
Selmak/Jacob Carter (SG1) as vittorias old man had me in hysterics.

The funniest part was :
Hanks/Langdon (overacting): "oh my god, its a pentogram"

What made it worse was the fact that Ron Howard felt he had to spell everything out to the audience. Geez the most part of people that are going to watch it have read the book.
