Love the passion and I reckon he's going to be a great player but to say what's been reported in this article makes him Captain material is ludicrous.
He comes off as totally selfish and not really caring about what's best for the team.
Yeah, a great quality in your Captain.

Agree. He may well be future captain material but for 2015 at least, he clearly needs to just focus on his own role.

Can't wait to see Peats, Mau, Moeroa and Watmough defensive efforts next year. We are going to be a lot tougher and physical next year.

Is it possible that Peats is able to provide leadership without being named captain of the side?

I'm sure the main reason we bought Watmough is for his leadership but he never captained Many once in his NRL career. Not because he's not a leader, but because he's far from the best at doing the captain's unique task of addressing referees.

this isn't true - I'm pretty sure the NRL rules stipulate that EVERY manly player is allowed to and does address the referee
