Another saga in Stacey's depature

Don't worry folks there is no dirt here.

One point that has been over looked is that without Stacey next year we not only miss out on a great half, leader, inspiration and field kicker we now HAVE NO GOAL KICKER ...
FORGET the part timers such as Webb and Sione and Martin who was meant to have been a 75% + man...
We will have to go out and buy a player who can kick goals.

Any idea of available players next year??

But I don't think we need to discount Faumuina/Webb/Martin so early ... Faumuina was kicking at something like 80% last year, Webb goes alright and Martin could be the answer once he gets over his injuries.

Jones is currently on a huge salary, maybe 3-400K. Add the substantial salaries of Betham and Guttenbiel who are set to go and you've got more than enough cash to play with. Then you could sack Clinton Toopi (who was re-sgned when he was one of the best centres in the comp), plus there's also Vinnie ANdersons salary parked from this year, potentially the Warriors should be very active in the market again this year.

clint`s off contract this year, so i think there`s every chance he won`t be retained.

somehow i don`t think matt orford will come here, plus he only kicks from the left side of the field & cameron smith from the right. but yes, he is a very good kicker.

we should`ve signed hazem along with pricey, i`m pretty sure he was off contract last year.

oh no...just when you thought the news couldnt get any worse, we realise we have are stuck with him for another year...

get rid of him and meli, and we will have some good money to go out spending for some good backs come june 30. neither of them deserve a 1/10th of whatever they would be on. if monty and awen go, so should these two.

The point is that El Masri isn't a great defender, and that was easily the best and most well known example.

Meli is crap... has been for a long while. You can't keep using what he did years ago as an example.

El Masri is as good of a defender as Meli, and a better all round player...

Plus, as you keep saying to justify Meli's awful defence, in the example you refer to Meli scored 5 tries on the Bulldogs... not El Masri, there were other people involved in the defence too... Something else you'd want to consider, my recollection is hazy, but they weren't 5 tries of individual brilliance where Meli picked the ball up from dummy half, returned a kick, or took a pass one off the ruck and bamboozled the Bulldogs - they were all or largely team tries...
