If I were Ciraldo, I'd be telling them not to say anything and just concentrating on proving themselves on the field.
The trouble is, Ciraldo is not the boss and the bloke who is seems more intent on protecting himself than doing what is best for the team.

I think they call it feeding the hand that bites you. It really is time for the sideshow to end and for normal transmission to be resumed.

Definite focus on footy now but at least the players have been told (as at yesterday) they are no longer required to publicly defend him.

Well that's super interesting. Didn't realise they were under instructions. Figured they were just focusing on footy.

Gus is protecting the club. If Griffin doesn't shit on all the hard work before he got here from countless staff this would be done by now.

Im sure they would've been told don't say much but be respectful when he got fired, now it sounds like they've been told say what you like but footy comes first so nothing till after the game.

They are obviously fairly confident anyone in the playing group who does speak up is going to confirm Goulds side of event; Hook is a prick.

Under instructions for sure. Smart instructions too as we couldn't have players publicly criticising the coach.

Anyway, shackles are now off so if the players get asked a question they can either choose to avoid or be honest.

If they've got any brains they will talk about footy and nothing else.

Would you step in the ring with Tyson?

Gus is protecting Gus.

At first maybe in part but you could see the footy show was Gus being angry at Griffin's comments about the club and staff. He still loves the club regardless of your massive bias in favour of Griffin.

If Griffin credits the staff with the work they did and honestly presents his contribution this tiff would be over.

Nothing wrong with blowing off some steam about the bloke who has been shackling the team and your career for the last two years now that you've finally got some air to breathe in. If a player is asked they're entitled to answer honestly. Get it all out there ready for finals time.

Hook is doing another interview with Buzz today.

He is cashing in on this sacking even more.

He never wanted to do any interviews such as this when he was coaching. He hated the media.

News Limited are using Hook to stick the knife in as much as possible.
Doesn't make sense. There are no media agendas.

I suspect we won't know the full story on what the players thought of him until a couple leave the club or retire.

For example, the three we have heard the most from are Soward, Segeyaro and Alex Melville.

I understand Elijah Taylor is the happiest out of all the ex-players about Hook being sacked but he isn't the type to go to the media with it.

I really don't think they would've given them leave to say what they like unless most of the playing group had made their feelings known.

Gus is a flog and has many enemies for good reason

Gus has done good things for the club. Not perfect, of course, but he's been positive on the whole.

Most non-Panthers fans hate him because he is one of the worst commentators known to man. I hate him on the commentary team; he is a cranky, repetitive, annoying presence who is obsessed with refereeing errors, making loud sounds when something exciting happens, and complaining about going to the bunker, and is 100 times worse when Warren is next to him.
