Any news on our new sponsor?

I would think that any potential sponsor would be very cautious about brand damage, if more shit hits the fan.

Has the dust well and truly settled yet ?
No.

As people have said, sponsorship is interdependent.

IKEA doesn't need to pay us money to get their name/brand out there - it's already well known.

So called "top end" sponsors would be very cautious of an association with something they cannot control, especially given league/club/player "incidents" being as frequent as they are. No way I'd fork out that money on league team sponsorship if my company was already travelling well.

We can talk up western sydney all we like, but i suspect we'll be stuck with jobbers like Pirtek or Dyldam who need to pay for (risk) the exposure, so peope can know what the f**k they actually do.

I am hopeful that when our new footy club board gets selected over the next month, some of them will have some serious business contacts that could open the door to potential top end sponsors. That should be one of the benefits we see from a merit based board selection.

There was an article a couple months back with a list of names of big business people etc who the eels should target. I forget names but do remember there were a few heavy hitters on that list.
I think a boss of Coca Cola , Harvey Norman etc
If we could jag a few of them it would be nice.think even ray warren was on the list.

Gonski or Meiklejohn? Catherine Brenner would also be a huge step up

Unfortunately she wouldn't have the time but Katie Page would be an amazing get. Plus it'd be a major f**k you to the NRL

the jersey looks crap but not having a sponsors ad all over it doesn't make it look cheap

all jerseys would look better without sponsors crap all over them IMO

Is he intentionally hding the sleave sponsor? Or are his biceps just too big for the jersey?

It'd be alright as a 7s jersey...

It's better than the St George one with the cartoon dragon...

And not having a (transient) main sponsor logo cheapening the strip would make me more likely to buy it...

To Sponsor anything is a interdependent relationship and is all about expanding ones brand. Seeing all the building going around in Parramatta I see a company like IKEA being the right sponsor. Having the same colours as the Eels also helps.

PS Is there an IKEA store in the west? Or are there plans to have one?

Royal Caribbean is blue and yellow...Although like Ikea probably don't need to be sponsoring an NRL Team...

P&O are sponsoring Souths though...

To stand out on that busy jersey design, a main sponsor would need to have a name/logo in black text on white background, or coloured text/logo on a black background.

P---hub are still in with a show!

I don't care about nines jerseys. At least this us something completely different to what has come before.

As long as the NRL jerseys are immediately identifiable as Eels then for me that is the main priority.

I like the size of the advertisement on that jersey. The NT ad is subtle. The ad should be smaller than our badge.
If we have a jersey without a big ad on it this year I will go buy one for the first time in ten years.

you don't see sponsors all over NFL jerseys so i don't get the logic of saying without some massive sponsors ad on it somehow cheapens the jersey

I wonder if we could take a game to PNG? Would the PNG government pay us to take a game there like the NT?
