Anyone angry at Marty?

I should have probably made my thoughts a little clearer in the original post. For some strange reason I am a little angry, not because he is leaving... but because he had 164 first grade games with us and he probably reached his full potential in (maybe) 30 of those games.

Too many times he was a passenger - and even then he was a class above most players.

Now it seems like he has fled to an easier league.

What a waste.

:(

how well do you think he would have gone under the direction of a different coach ... lets say R.Stuart as an example

I am not in any way angry with him. He was clearly not wanted by the club and they grabbed the opportunity to offload him. He clearly doesn't fit into the coach's plans any more.

In terms of "wasted potential" I don't blame Macca. I blame our coaching structure. We have had so many wasted opportunities recently it isn't funny.... Kite, Soward, Payten are players who come instantly to mind who we have let go prematurely or didn't bring on properly.

I'm annoyed in the fact that if he knew he was going he should of let management know earlier than he did. Having said that I wont hold it against him. He was still my favourite player.

If the Raiders management were smart, they'd restructure Lincoln Withers' contract. Because of salary cap struggles for 2005, he is only getting $45,000 for next year, and like $200,000+ the following three years. So now that money has been freed up from McLinden, they should pay Withers more this year, freeing up even more money in 2006... if that makes sense.

It's hard to say. The fact that he played a season with Ricky and three with Lozza should have been the best education money could buy... who better to learn the skills of being a half.

I think the biggest problem came during Mal's tenure... getting shafted all over the backline, wing, fullback... it was a total joke and a waste of his ability.

At least Elliott gave him the faith to play 6 or 7 on a regular basis, form permitting. And 2003 was a very good season for him. That said, he mentioned he 'learned a lot' when Matt Johns was here.... maybe we need a specialist halves coach. I don't know.

Provided we're not going after Fielded (I haven't given up hope yet) I would say that is what they would do. If they evened out Linc's contract, we would have alot more money for 06, and that should stand us in good stead.
