Hotmail is working fine for me also.

Maybe clear your Internet history, see if it helps.

les, I'm having the same problem, for the last few days, whenever i try to sign in, it starts to load then freezes and says 'Done' at the bottom of the screen. Ive tried through msn, the hotmail site, and then already being signed in to ninemsn, but the same thing happens every time.

I check Hotmail from an older computer on a slow connection (28k) at work.

Hotmail seems to 'time out' quicker than most sites, displaying a 'Cannot find server' page or only partially loads and then stops.

If i stop surfing with the other IE Windows I have open :p Hotmail will usually load.

I just keep hitting the refresh button (and waiting for it to stop loading before hitting it again .... you know who you are ;-)) and eventually it will load.

on the other hand, I have had times where it appears that one of the 2 hotmail accounts i check couldn't be reached while the other could (that 'Server too busy' message sounds familiar). That i put down to the 2 accounts being on seperate servers and on of the servers was the problem.

This is exactly whats happening with me. I can access my partners hotmail from this computer, so Its just mine. I emailed them and this is what they emailed me back....

Thank you for writing to MSN Hotmail Technical Support.

This is Gina in response to your message. I understand that all you are getting is a blank page when you sign-in to your Hotmail account. I can tell how frustrating this is, and I am here to help you with as much as I can.

While we are investigating the issue, I am going to give you some troubleshooting procedures that may help you solve the problem. We have verified that these steps were able to address similar concerns of other Hotmail customers and we would appreciate it if you can also try these out on your end.

1. Clear your browser's cache or Temporary Internet Files.
a. From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
b. On the General tab, under "Temporary Internet Files", click on "Delete Cookies" then click on "Ok".
c. Click on "Delete Files". Put a checkmark on the "Delete all offline content" radio button, and then click on "Ok".

2. Set your browser to check for newer versions of stored pages
a. From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
b. On the General tab, click "Settings"
c. Under "check for newer versions of stored pages", select "Every visit to the page"
d. Click "OK"

3. Verify that your browser's cookies are enabled.
a. Click "Tools" from your browser's menu, then click "Internet Options".
b. Click "Privacy" Tab, then click the "Advanced" button.
c. Mark the checkbox beside "Override Automatic Cookie Handling".

4. Lower your "Security" settings.
a. On the "Tools" menu, click "Internet Options".
b. Click "Security."
c. Click "Default Level."
d. Verify that the slider is set to "Medium." If it is not, move the slider to "Medium" by clicking on it and moving your cursor to the appropriate direction.
e. Click "OK."

5. Enable all ActiveX controls and plug ins:
a. From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
b. On the Security tab, select "Internet".
c. Click the "Custom Level" button.
d. From the "Security Settings" dialog box, under "ActiveX Controls and plug-ins", select "Enable" except for "Download unsigned ActiveX controls". For this selection, choose either "Disable" or "Prompt".

6. Enable Javascripts:
a. Click “Tools”, then click on “Internet Options”.
b. Click the “Security” tab.
c. Click the “Custom Level” button. Scroll to the “Scripting” section. Under “Active scripting”, Allow paste operations via script, and Scripting of Java applets, check “Enable”.
d. Click “OK: button.

7. I also recommend that you install the latest Windows updates. To find out what updates your system may need, visit http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

8. Please try using any of the free spyware or adware detection tools that can be found on the internet to check your system for Spyware or Adware. You can try the free detection tool at: www.spychecker.com. If you did not find any Spyware or Adware programs on your computer, try disabling your security software then access your account. Please be assured that disabling your firewall and virus scanners is completely safe if you visit MSN sites only. I advise you to turn on your security software if you intend to visit any other site as we cannot guarantee the safety of your internet experience outside the MSN domain.

You can also try to access your account on another computer with a different Internet connection and let us know if you still continue to have the same problem.

If for some reason you are still encountering issues after doing these steps, please reply to this message and provide us the following information:

1. Are you accessing your account from a computer that is behind a firewall or corporate LAN (Local Area Network)?
2. Are you able to access other Hotmail accounts from the computer where you are having this issue?
3. Are you able to access your account from a different computer?

Thank you for your patience and continued patronage of MSN Hotmail.

I'm just about to try some of it...

I've had the same problem for the past few days.

I use Internet Explorer, and have been told it's to do with java/security settings/hotmail changing something on their site recently, blah blah blah, etc.

For those using Internet Explorer and looking for a quick, or even permanent fix while Hotmail attempts to get their shit in order, visit this site...

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox

Have a read through it, then download it (It's free). I'm always sceptical about anything Internet related that I don't know much about, but i've seen plenty of comments about the Firefox browser and every one of them seems to think it's much better than IE. But more importantly, it will let you view your Hotmail if you are being affected by this 'bug' through IE.

I've just downloaded it and I can now view my mail.

:thumnn

Cheers.

Speaking of GMail, if anyone wants an account, I've still got all 6 invites left.

Apparently a few people have been having trouble with loging into there e-mails.

Hotmail.com haven't produced any statement or anything as far as I know, I'm not too sure what is going on with their service.

It's working for me though :p
