Why ? Because it was listed in history's top ten greatest albums.

Was just great. Butch Vig (the producer of the album, plus also Smashing Pumpkin's Siamese Dream) REALLY proved how GREAT that album was. Funnily enough, Smells Like Teen Spirit was the very last song on that album, the band actually did, but when Butch told them to do this and then that, it turned out to be one of history's biggest ever sellers. It was a great documentary, but it was watching Butch Vig do his "producing" whatreally made it. IT truly went into the tiniest detail with each song ... was just brilliant !!

Why are these awesome doco's always on SBS ? I watch it all the time, but not many music lovers do and they miss out :(

Some of the Hendrix Doco's theyve shown are even better. What a shame :(

Yeah I love those things, always very interesting.

Didn't see the Nirvana one but then you know what I think of Nirvana anyway. Would still have been interesting to see.

I think its the same Doco that was on Foxtel 3 weeks ago?

He was basically going through the tracks and explaining "why they did this and that and what happened in the studio here, why they added this and kept this" etc etc.

It was great, Vig was really into it.

Dammit. I saw that in the TV guide and made a mental note to watch it. Should have made a real note.

I just got that doco "The Last 48Hours Of Kurt Cobain". I'm yet to watch it, & it sounds like fluff but no harm in wasteing an hour or 2. Might have to chase this one up though.

Was that a "Classic Albums" doco?

The Classic Album doco's usually show the making of songs on great albums and heaps of behind the scenes, behind the music stuff.

I have a few of these on DVD

Metallica's The Black Album
Nirvana's Nevermind
Queen's A Night At The Opera

they are f**king brilliant.

yes mate ... it was the classic albums one. But when i posted this message a few weeks back, SBS said they were going to show the Marvin Gaye one the week after, but im not sure they actually did.

But by christ, the Nirvana one was good. Butch Vig is a God !!

Is that the doco where Vig is sitting in the same studio they recorded Nevermind and he says that Kurt was lying on the couch singing All Apologies and saying I want it to sound like this - so Butch miked him up where he layed?
