ANZ Stadium claims Westie snub

It is expensive nowadays to go to ANZ Stadium and try and enjoy and code of football, unless it is a fullhouse for some codes international.

A train to Central from the west is not that arduous, then either a short bus trip up to the SFS for the incapacitated or the bludgers or a nice walk up the hill stopping off to have a beer at each pub..builds character and atmosphere does that.

ANZ is also accessible but they must lower their prices and make it more reasonable for families to go out to a game.

Last 2 Cronulla preliminary's have got pretty good crowds

51,827 V St. George Illawarra @ ANZ in 1999
45,782 v New Zealand @ ANZ in 2002

Although I vaguely remember a ticket giveaway in 2002... not sure though.

Piss off Ken Edwards. SFS is a far, far superior ground than ANZ when it comes to viewing and atmosphere, is a much better place to watch footy at.

Oh noes. What will the poor Westies do. How will they cope with a 35 minute train ride (from Parra). It takes longer to get to the SFS from Manly than it does Parra, stop bitching Ken Edwards.

That being the problem, normally these averages a spiked by one or 2 matches played before well above average crowds.
Penrith (94) and Parra (86) didn't play in big enough stadiums to get a massive spike from one or 2 games.

Canterbury is west, if you go by the accepted rule that anything west of the CBD is western suburbs

Well what do you expect? Canterbury joined the comp 27 years after it started. Parramatta joined the comp 40 years after it started. Penrith joined the comp 60 years after it started. If city and seaside clubs dominate spots in the competition of course they're going to win a stack more premierships. Western Sydney will always be playing catch up when you consider the lack of representation in the area for a number of decades.

So how have Wests gone in their time? Did Norths get a glut of premierships? Or, check the stats since 1935, 1947, or 1969. Seaside clubs have it - even including the deadwood Cronulla.
