Are the NRL finals on FTA only?

As per the thread title I was wondering if the NRL finals on Channel 9 only or are they now simulcast on Fox as well?

Can't seem to find the info online

Channel Nein will show all finals FTA and live for 2013 as they have for the past few years.

Whenever FTA games are shown either live or delayed, such as the Friday night second game and Sunday games, Foxtel have a delayed telecast after the FTA telecast. It has something to do with contractual rights between the NRL, Nein and Foxtel.

The same goes for the major autumn and spring horse racing meetings. Channel 7 will show it live FTA and Sky Channel will have a audio broadcast simultaneously and vision a few minutes later.

Just checked the Foxtel guide but it isn't updated to mid September yet. Later in the month it should be available.

My guess is that FOXSPORTS broadcast to the remote regions in and around Australia and to the overseas markets.

The under 20's and VB Cup finals series will be broadcast by FOXSPORTS with Nine and FOX calling the under 20's GF live.

Fox wouldn't be able to split their feed so some only goes to remote areas

they'd still be able to get some form of FTA anyway

no idea which commentary feed international broadcasts take in the finals

Will the NSW Cup GF also be live on Fox ?

Least the Fox commentators will at least call the game, rather than last year's terrible call from Channel 9.

I think since 2008 if a Semi final was replayed on Fox they were use their commentary which I would prefer sometimes.

It's done for future use more than anything ? so if they use footage of Souffs lifting the trophy in future years it will have Warren Smith's voice underneath it, rather than Rabs getting away an ad for The Voice.
