I think Penrith will rally and overtake the Eels for 8th but they can't make the top 4 and thus can't win the comp.

It's really that simple.

With a settled spine and Moylan thriving at 5/8 they'll be a real contender in 2018 though.

Exactly. I think how you win is more important to who you win against. The last two wins against poor teams didn't bother me as they were kind of poor games from us. Against the Dogs though they really gave it 100% and had a genuinely good game.
