Are the Roosters done for 2014?

The kicking games of both halves was shocking. Shitchell bombed an easy one too. Disgraceful. I agree with Swarzey, Dureau looked the goods last week and I think Pearce has got something to be worried about

Most years I'd say not a chance. Given how crap most teams are playing in general this year then there are still 6-7 sides that could take it out

We won't win it, playing the way we're playing, no way.

All aspects of our game are so far below last year it's diabolical, it's like the entire squad has developed downs.

Chook.

biggest problem ?- attitude, there are a few players in that squad that think they just have to run out on the filed to win each week

SBW - MIA, he is a great talent but no-one ever criticises him for going missing when the Roosters need someone?.

we've got this

Isn't there an old chestnut that says teams around this time get flogged at training in preparation for finals and can easily drop games like this as a result?

Look back through the past premiers seasons, most lost a string of games or had a full on slump right around this time.

Roosters too arrogant, think they can just turn up to win games

Far from done but they need to stop allowing the crap sides to drag them down to their level.

They'll be much better when Topou and Jennings are back.

Pearce continues to show every week why he will be an immortal and SBW continues to show why he is one of the highest paid players in the game and one of the games biggest draw cards. Will make the 8 and that's all.

I think that might be the wake up call they needed unfortunately. I was a bit on the fence during the match. Do I want them to win just to keep the rot going and risk them rolling into top 4? Or was it better to see them lose and make it harder for top 4 and risk being woken up?

It will be interesting to see how they respond. Anybody suggesting they are done can't be serious. Injury wise they are ok.

Agree , it only takes one good game and then they will be called premiership material again.
However , they supposedly got a wake up call against Sharks recently. Right!!

For mine , they were lucky last year , good draw , minimal injuries , the pretenders in 2013 who won it and this year they really cannot fake it again.

So far this season their losses to Sharks and now Knights have provided me with my best LOL to offset some of the sloppy Souths performances.

its gone from a case of 'when we fire we'll be serious contenders' to a case of 'if we fire then we'll be serious contenders'

not many games left to turn it around

I thought we were done after dropping the 24 point lead vs the Sharks.

We haven't strung together more than 20 minutes of good football since rnd 2.

So last night wasn't much of a surprise.

I think we'll bow out in the second week of the finals... which would be a horrendous underachievement for the best roster in the NRL.

If not for the Sharks game I might've agreed...but that should've been their wake-up moment.

This is looking for all money like a year they look back on and say shit we should've done better, but strutting around on a year-long premiership celebration seemed more fun at the time.

I doubt last night will be a wake-up call to them. If losing a game to the Sharks after leading 24-0 isn't a wake-up call, nothing will be.

They're just not consistent enough to be a genuine premiership threat. One good game doesn't get you through to the Grand Final. You need to back it up week after week. Roosters haven't shown that ability yet this season.

That said, there's not a team I'm willing to write off once the finals hit. Not when every single side has been shit at some point and could lose an easy game in the finals.
