Are the Roosters done for 2014?

I doubt last night will be a wake-up call to them. If losing a game to the Sharks after leading 24-0 isn't a wake-up call, nothing will be.

They're just not consistent enough to be a genuine premiership threat. One good game doesn't get you through to the Grand Final. You need to back it up week after week. Roosters haven't shown that ability yet this season.

That said, there's not a team I'm willing to write off once the finals hit. Not when every single side has been shit at some point and could lose an easy game in the finals.

Agree. Everyone is expecting them to click, but it doesn't just happen.

I'm not prepared to concede just yet but far out it's not Looking good.

Something missing and I just feel like we're not throwing enough footy at teams when we have the ball. So one dimensional.

Jennings and tupou will help with that, but collectively the whole team needs to lift.

It seems no team has been able to string more than 3 wins together this season. Dogs and Penrith maybe but that's about it. I think it could be that kind of season where any of the top 6/7 teams who manage to pull 4 weeks of form together at the right time could take it. At the moment it should be odds on for Manly because they have most consistently shown form.
I think it makes top 4 even more important. Winning 4 games on the trot against the best will be tough.

they're nothing without jake friend. he controls their attack, line speed, defense, kicking everything.

as for robinson whinging in the presso, it was fair enough. all the 50/50 calls seemed to go against them.

sbw could be a massive loss in their attack. many of their tries seem to come off the back of his offloads. guerra though, will do a very good job in his absence. imo, guerra is better than boyd and sbw

If it was a "normal" year and the Roosters were as inconsistent as they are now, you'd think the top 2 or 3 would chew them up in the finals.

But this year, no team looks like dominating. There are no clearly superior teams. Manly look the most consistent, and deserve to be favourites, but hardly seem stable and are not looking really threatening for the team at the top of the ladder.

Every other team down to about 13th looks as unlikely to win 4 in a row as each other, but some team has to do it. If any one can at all confidently/accurately predict from here who will be top 4, much less grand finalists or premiers, I bow to their superior wisdom/ assiness.

Roosters are lucky Panthers and Dogs lost...reakon they will make the 4. if Manly lose tomorrow Roosters a good chance for minor premiership still.

They're not done at all. It would help their cause though if MoneyBill would put in for maybe half of the rest of the season.

This competition is ridiculously open
as long as they are in the 8, they are as good a chance as any

I honestly think the positions in the top 8 dont mean a f**king thing this year, get in there and if you get hot at the right time, you'll win a comp.

Of course they mean a thing, especially this year. Having a second chance could be huge in this year's finals
