Are there any good juniors coming through with this

One thing I believe in order to have a successful team is a couple of players with something called the X-Factor. You can't coach it and it exists naturally in some individuals. I believe this is something we have lacked for a long time. Apart from Lyon and Hindmarsh we haven't had players of this calibre in the past couple of years.
This year we have seen players such as Karmichael Hunt and Sonny Bill Williams emerge with this trait. We are a little bare in the centres at the moment apparently. I was wondering if there were any juniors coming through that could be the next best thing to fill these positions. I don't just mean good, I mean someone who has the potential to be BRILLIANT.
One of the main problems in the 2001 was that although we were consistent there was no one who could combat the X-Factor possessed by Andrew Johns.
Are there any juniors coming through who may possess the "X-Factor"?

X Factor can only be seen after 1st grade appearances. However a few players this year have had games which they have been frighteningly good. I think Tim Smith at times has shown he can organise and direct a team arround the parkwith sucess. Look close enough and each person will have different views on who does and who doesnt have this so called X factor.

Green definately has it. To hear he is in contention in our team or at least Prems is a big step towards his development.

Unfortunately the X-Factor that night was Jason Taylor.

I don't blame JT at all but that would have been Hagans' game plan.

:( you're right about JT and the 2001 debacle - and i certainly don't blame JT, but he was a the weak link that night

however, i think there was a weaker link - preparation for the game, which was...oh forget, i'll just get yelled at for going there.... ;-)

to the x-factor thing......i totally agree and we have lost the best x-factor we had - JL and i will admit even Dykes had a bit of X about him on his day, maybe just a small x ;-) .....however, PJ has plenty of X in my opinion and i am hoping that people like Josh Davis may well just have some X as well????

Question for Jake and Co

I know that Tim Smith is a natural 7. Can you tell me a little more about him? age, Junior club, rep honours etc?. Also Blake Green? is he a 6 or 7 ? Also his background.

Joey was the least of our worries that night. Both Kennedy and Simpson played like men possessed.

I believe we have youngsters with that X-Factor - the Smiths, Mateo, Backo, Perenara.

If you want centre then look no further than Backo, Davis, Smith.

i know i have only seen Ben Smith play twice......

and he is big, but to me, at least initially, although he seemed solid and defence, he also seemed a little flat or a tad slow an ineffective in attack....but then again he didn't get a lot of chances - hopefully he will prove me wrong or develop well

With a proper 5/8 Smith would be able to get the ball and show his skills. In Prems he did pretty well when he had the ball.

Tim Smith is still young and very worthy of having a place in our team. He has represented Australian Schoolboys I think and is a natural halfback. Blake Green is young but something about him tells me he will be a star he was pushed into the 6 jersey late in the season because of Dave Queenans arrival but can play either quite well. Blake has definately played Aust. Schoolboys.
