There were many things I liked about Smith but going rogue on the tv rights deal quite rightly was his undoing.
It revealed a complete lack of understanding of the Australian sports broadcasting landscape and gifted the AFL an extremely bloated contract.
Whether we like it or not, Foxtel is our biggest broadcast partner and you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

ARLC adds new commissioner

Leading barrister Alan Sullivan QC has today been appointed to the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC).
The ARLC accepted the unanimous recommendation from the game’s Nomination Committee for Mr Sullivan to be appointed as a Commissioner.
A distinguished barrister, Mr Sullivan has a long association with rugby league having Chaired the New South Wales and Australian Rugby League judiciaries and represented the Commission in many legal matters. Mr Sullivan is also a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
