Plenty of big off season news coming up in the near future. Surely we should be hearing about some of this stuff pretty quickly given clubs need to be setting budgets for next year?

1. NRL club grants
2. Salary cap increase
3. Expansion
4. New CEO
5. Grass roots funding
6. NZ tv rights deal
7. Naming sponsor
8. Internet rights

Any others we are waiting to hear about?

Lord knows that if we dont hear about this stuff is a well documented paper, PR will be mentioning it.

Why is expansion on the list?

Planned proper expansion should not be looked at this off season, but maybe an emergency standby bid should be looked at in case a certain team goes 'tits up'

Titans, Wests, Newcastle and Cronulla all have financial worries.

But back with the OP question - Slow play the balls and refereeing standards should be on must look at list.

Number 1 on their "List"...Be good at their job. They are bordering on being a joke so far.

Well for starters, what a PR abortion the whole Bulldogs affair has become.

If they were truly up to it, they would have been ahead of the curve on this one, hell it ain't that difficult.

But on a "whole game approach" as our fearless leader loves to say, they should have brought all of the media in for a massive pow wow to nut out what they can all do to work well together. i.e. no more shit stories on the game , a la AFL, and only focus on the good stuff again a la AFL. Also how to generate more hype around the GF and just as importantly, throughout the off season. And ultimately whatever they agree upon, the ARLC need to genuinly act upon it, not just offer lip service. Also keep improving on it every season a la AFL.

They need to be creating allegiances throughout all the media outlets and make them partners of the game so to speak, again a la AFL. Give them incentives to love the game not tear it down. But instead we just let them fend for themselves and the ARLC/NRL just circle the wagons when something goes wrong. This is just no where near good enough in the worlds most competitive sports market.

Like I said before clubs want the money but don't want the extra professionalism that come with it. They still treat the media as an adversary, instead of working out a way to becoming formidable allies against all comers, dare I say it once again, a la AFL.

You seriously believe that they don't have an agenda for consideration at their meetings? One which outlines all those things that, as a group, they need to consider and make decisions on (ie, a LIST)?
1. Where to go for lunch.
2. Where to go for lunch next time.
