Just read on NRL Physio that Pezet injured his knee in his first game back yesterday from an ACL. Doesn’t look good as it wasn’t even in contact.

doesn't look good.

We tried to sign him out of the Q Cup before we signed Pearce.

He was playing at Burleigh and I believe Rick Stone tried to lean on him via the Bears.

Came for a tour and everything, apparently we were close but ultimately he was living on the GC and decided to stay with the Tits.

He would have been a good fit, would still be here.
I heard the deal was basically done but AOB knocked it on the head because he didn’t want the first thing he did as head coach to be to bring in an older career reserve grader over the top of Phoenix Crossland & other young halves prospects.

Apparently Reed Mahoney is free to play next week after being put on report twice yesterday lol what a joke

How? JFC, they completely grade and punish you on what team you play for, not the actual incident. KPP gets two weeks for a shoulder charge, next week, not even a sin bin to the guy who does one. The whole system, from the refs, the bunker and the judiciary is a f**king joke!

The whole thing at Parra is weird. I get that it’s a rebuild but Ryles seems to be freezing some of the best players out of the club. Gutho is the last person you should be letting go given what he brings to club culture.

Ryles isn’t even playing his best available 17 each week.

I feel a bit for Brown, he signs a deal that literally anyone in the history of the game would accept with open arms and is now being absolutely battered for it. Like it’s his fault for being offered it or something.

Now everyone from the media to his own fan base is saying he’s overrated and doesn’t deserve it etc etc. If he wasn’t being treated with such disrespect then maybe he’d have his head in the game a bit more.

Look at the spine he’s playing with, all three of them are rookies, and the forward pack has been woeful. Not to mention some very questionable tactics and team selections.

Is he playing well right now? No he’s not. But is he in a position that is conducive to playing your best? No definitely not.

He's checked out, that much is obvious. I'd be livid as a Parra fan, he deserves no real sympathy from them - he's on 900k odd in 2025, is probably their highest paid player with Moses out, and is largely phoning it in. Regardless of the reason, no fan likes having an enormous dead weight on their cap.

I have no doubt he'll put in for us, but unfortunately for both sets of fans, there's no way we can take him off their hands for 2025.

If anything, the Dylan Brown and DCE fiascos are the biggest advertisement for a trade window that there’s ever been. This whole thing of players signing 12 years in advance to play for another club is ludicrous and just damages the game so much imo.

I'm sure the media love it. Especially the DCE situation at the moment but if you’re a potential fan looking at the game from the outside it just looks so poorly run from that perspective.

I feel it really comes down to how well the team is currently going to how well the fans deal with it.
Luai with Tigers for 2025, Panthers winning in 2024 so fans still happy. Dom Young with Roosters, we had a good final year with him so we happy (if bittersweet). Brown to us, Eels going shit, fans mad.

Yep pretty much. If Manly are playing like the Eels at the moment they’re hating DCE. Eels fans are an extreme breed though a lot of them. The hatred of the Arthur’s bros seems extreme too.
