May have gone un-noticed but Dylan Brown made a huge tackle on Bateman last night late in the game. Actually read the lead runner and did not fall for it. He has a game awareness that is underrated in my book. After watching Moses sook at everyone yesterday it is pretty apparent why he has never had the dominant playmaking role there.

Because Moses is much better?
The coaching of that club is based solely around him. So we’ll never know. They have diluted Dylan’s ability by doing so. Made him an add on. Clearly our club see it differently. No doubt any errors he makes will be amplified in this forum.

Wonder if we can play Dylan at 13 and Crossland at 14.

1. Ponga
6. Sharpe
7. New Signing
9. New Signing
13. Brown
14. Crossland

Crazy?

The last couple of week's results have put us back in the spoon race. Not just the losses but the big losing margins means our P/D, which had been not terrible, is now roughly the same as the other bottom teams.

Titans are still 1 win behind, but we're likely going to need to find one more win from somewhere.

Is this the sign that AOB is finally losing the dressing room? The players don’t seem to have his back like past years.

He seemed to pick up another soft tissue injury during the game. That's a real worry for him. Always seems to have some niggle.

I actually thought Pezet played quite well, his kicking game at least. But yeah, he’s really injury prone and that door is firmly shut anyway.

He did kick well. Trying to leave sour grapes out of it, I actually don't think he's a great fit for how Melbourne like to play, and actually should be trying to get to a different club. He's very much a traditional on-ball 7 to my eye like Cleary or Isaiya Katoa. At Melbourne they want both halves playing fast over the ad-line rather than with heaps of depth (their lead playmaker is Harry Grant IMO, not Hughes or Munster) and I don't think he's that kind of player. I think he wants to operate on the ball with options either side & play with a lot of variation in pace and tempo. Bit of a finesse player. Would have made sense at Manly as their DCE replacement for example.

Good luck to him, life's too short for bitterness. Far from the only player who doesn't want to play for the Knights lol. I still think he could have been good for us (injuries aside) as I do feel like a traditional on-ball 7 would be a really handy thing for us to plug in between Kalyn and Fletcher, but the ship has sailed and if not us, I dunno. Brisbane maybe?
