and he finishes it off to bag a 6-fer. Tassie all out 125, lead of 28. Copeland 6-51, Doug 3-25, Watson 1-30. Hauritz not required.

Copeland is a weapon. Just destroys whoever dares to hold a bat infront of him.

Why isn't Sh*ttle playing for the Vics against WA? It seems the rest of the potential Test players are playing either Shield Cricket or down in Hobart?

Being rested because he has already been selected for the first test ahead of Bollinger...

Katich didn't go out to open (Henriques did for some strange reason). Wonder if the thumb is ok?

I was worried about that also, I wonder who would open if Katich is ruled out?? Hughes looks out of form but definitely is the next best opener. They may even try Khawaja or Hussey up top. Perhaps Paine to open??

He looks pretty innocuous trundling in off 10 paces, but he sure knows how to get wickets.

As for a potential Katich replacement, lets hope Hughes can get amongst em in the second dig. Otherwise you could well see Hussey there.

Copeland also brought up his 50th FC wicket today in his 8th match. Brings his average under 18 and his s/r under 40.

Copeland is outstanding

For the number 6 spot, I'd be picking Smith at 7 and bumping Haddin up. Haddin is more than good enough to go up, and Smith today showed more than North and Hussey have in about 15 games IMO. His temperament on a dodgy track with a failing team around him was excellent.

1. Watson
2. Katich
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Voges
6. Haddin
7. Smith
8. Johnson
9. O'Keefe
10. Hilfenhaus
11. Bollinger

That'd probably be my team for the first test.

Voges? He's rubbish...better off gambling on Ferguson or Khawaja, or maybe using Paine as a batsman

In a test match I'd have Voges over Ferguson anyday. Really cannot see Ferguson as a test match player.

Paine as a bat? Can the kid field at all? Voges also offers a spin option if we are scrapping the barrel searching for wickets during a match.

Khawaja - yes he's a better bat then Voges but he still seems just off being ready for a big test series.

I cant believe that they rested Siddle, why put this sook in cotton wool ?

Almost makes you think he is a lock in for the first test

Every newspaper article I read reckons Siddle is edging ahead of Bollinger for the 3rd pacemans spot... If this happens I will be losing my Fking mind.
