I like to watch a good game of soccer and I see diving as just a part of the game. Sometimes they can milk a free kick or penalty well good luck to them. But it is not as bad as when a player in the NRL gets hit hard and goes down and the watermen comes on the field and says to the player "stay down and let the referee have a look at the video replay". Now that pisses me. Kurt Gidley is one of the biggest offender of getting the video ref to look at the replay.
Surely you jest?
I've been raised and played soccer all my life, but prefer watching the NRL and support the Sharks more than any other sport I've played or am interested in.
But I cannot and never will accept diving or simulation in soccer till the day I die. It is by far the worst thing in any sport I've ever come across. The most infuriating and fragrant disregard for fair competition.
At least in the NRL when a bloke gets hit 9/10 the ref has missed something that is legitimately a penalty. Irrespective of whether or not they are injured to a degree that requires medical attention.
And while we are on topic of injuries that require attention if you want to really argue this point or compare the sports, watch any of the Asian teams bring out the stretcher for players. Low and behold 15 seconds after they are off the pitch they are able to play again.
Can't agree. The sooner soccer/football cleans up it's act in regards to this and starts banging out red cards for people who want to influence matches in this way the better.
Next they can stop every spastic running up and manhandling the refs, another disgrace.
