Keep em coming Feej, they are a classic.

How do soccer refs not ever realise they are being conned?

FIFA and Sookarh make the Channel Nein's NRL look like a bunch of amateur Dave Smiffs

The EPL is awesome. You guys are missing out.

The asain cup is cool and all but in typical Australian fashion we expect to win it. Still a chance but it's far from a given ffs

Epl is awesome. Even with the mega oil money teams can still be beaten by teams on a shoestring budget. There is less diving over there. Asians and south americans are horrible for diving.

Yes, every team dives. FIFA made a bit of a deal about "simulation" 10 years ago but ya never hear that word anymore.

I don't mind watching Socceroos or quality teams but diving does turn me off. Have to laugh when you see obvious occurrences of diving but the ref falls for it & the commentators say absolutely nothing about it. I guess they try & protect their game but that's a short term attitude. Surely getting diving out of the game improves the integrity of soccer. Sadly it's an accepted part of the game.

Watched Iran V UAE last night. Been impressed with Iran in their first 2 games but not so much last night...but they still won (with sfa possession) to top the group. That's why they are about 50th in the world (play below par & win) & we are over 100 (play well but lose).

I think it was aloisi after the game the other nught when they were talking about Australia's domination of the stats - "All the possession and field position mean nothing if you lose the game"
He was spot on. We dominated that game from the outset but could t poke home one of the numerous chances we made. Korea made 1 chance and scored.
They won.
We didn't.
Simple.

They need to bring back the 20 minute softening up period. That will stop the divers and who knows, maybe the crowds will flock back.

Just imagine this for one moment. You see a diving whinging mongrel rolling around on the deck after falling over after losing control of the ball and also his balance. Claiming he had been kicked or tripped.

As the ref is checking on his well being as the acting player is slowly rising and about to be upright, then whooshkarhh, an opposition player blindsides him with a cocked and primed coathanger.

Arse up goes the diver, arms and legs everywhere. Now he is on his back fair and square.

Not only would the crowds love it, but it would stop the diver farting in church.

Even I'd go and watch a game or two.

I like to watch a good game of soccer and I see diving as just a part of the game. Sometimes they can milk a free kick or penalty well good luck to them. But it is not as bad as when a player in the NRL gets hit hard and goes down and the watermen comes on the field and says to the player "stay down and let the referee have a look at the video replay". Now that pisses me. Kurt Gidley is one of the biggest offender of getting the video ref to look at the replay.

Surely you jest?

I've been raised and played soccer all my life, but prefer watching the NRL and support the Sharks more than any other sport I've played or am interested in.

But I cannot and never will accept diving or simulation in soccer till the day I die. It is by far the worst thing in any sport I've ever come across. The most infuriating and fragrant disregard for fair competition.

At least in the NRL when a bloke gets hit 9/10 the ref has missed something that is legitimately a penalty. Irrespective of whether or not they are injured to a degree that requires medical attention.

And while we are on topic of injuries that require attention if you want to really argue this point or compare the sports, watch any of the Asian teams bring out the stretcher for players. Low and behold 15 seconds after they are off the pitch they are able to play again.

Can't agree. The sooner soccer/football cleans up it's act in regards to this and starts banging out red cards for people who want to influence matches in this way the better.

Next they can stop every spastic running up and manhandling the refs, another disgrace.

So if we lose tonight will there be mass suicides like pods of whales do.

Or will we just blame every blade of grass on the pitch.

Another dominant 1/2, especially after the start....but no goals to show for it.

Edit: Enter Cahill's brilliance!
