I told him to just stop trying to justify himself, i said we're past it.

Then I told him that he should have appreciated the courtesy I gave him by being upfront and not playing games rather than be a dick about everything.

Then I told him now every time I shake my head in disbelief at what a pretentious twat he is I have to shake my head in disbelief at myself for sleeping with him. I think the last thing struck a nerve.

No, pretty obvious he only apologised because me ending the friendship hurt his pride, I rejected him, I think everything needed to be on his terms etc.
