I don’t want to seem to be aggressive towards you over this peaceful time, but that comment is condescending to me as you stated earlier that your coach wouldn’t have let him go if he wanted to keep him and yet he is a good buy for us?? Hmm like we are nobodies. Remember you are a guest on our forum.
He wouldn't let him go without a decent return for '25 is what I meant.
I do feel that the Sharks don't want to let him go at all for next season no matter what.
Sorry if I came across that way, not intended ok. And he is a good buy for you the season after, I honestly mean that.

Atkinson will be a great signing, and it will turn out to be a much more solid investment than Nicho on close to $1M.
Like our investment in Hunt, that will prove to be the anchor around the sharks neck.
"Investment"?
When you spend a great deal on a player what do you expect of him, from a clubs perspective?
Would you want your marquee player to be brandishing about how much he wants to leave?
How would your sponsors feel about that?
Or,
would you it be more affable for the club to have their marquee player being highly photographed in a positive light with their logo for all to see?

Nicho is no way on earth the same "investment" as Hunt.

Hard to disagree with that. And before Hunt we had Corey Norman. So you can understand that we are very keen to welcome into the club's halves a talented and sincere young man who is a team player and not a prima donna and who doesn't hang out with underworld identities. What a prospect!

To be truthful its not dissimilar to how we got Hynes. Very similar in fact.
Nicho wanted to be a main player, as does Atko. We signed him for 3 years on 600k, Atko on 3 years at 500k. Both been playing at clubs with good systems.
And both understanding the needs and wants to be a good club man in this age.
If Atko does progress higher, and there are some of us thinking he will make the Qld SOO team in the next few years, then I'm guessing his 3rd year will bring on a substantial upgrade.

I expect for $1M Investment a player should be an able to lead a team to victory and ice a game when it is there for the taking. Neither CHunt or Nicho are capable of doing this consistently. Hence at that value, the impact is shown across the squad and inhibits you from winning titles.
we had the problem, now you have the problem.
go back to enjoying your time with Flo Bad boy bubby, its all you’ll have for the next couple of seasons.

I remain hopeful that the Sharks will be confronted with a situation whereby they need to off-load Atkinson prior to the 2025 season.

In addition, I believe Sloan and Dawson will nail it in the off-season giving the Draagons one of the most striking backlines in recent time.

1. Gutherson
2. Sloan
3. Suli
4. Holmes
5. Lason
6. Flannagan
7. Atkinson
8. Molo
9. Cook
10. Lodge
11. Leilua
12. Su'A
13. Sele

14. Liddle
15. De Belin
16. Couchman
17. Fifita
