Luke Covell (born November 9, 1981 in Goondiwindi, Queensland) is an Australian rugby league player for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the National Rugby League competition. He also previously played for the Wests Tigers. His position of choice is on the wing. He is the nominated goal kicker (conversions) for the Cronulla Sharks and has scored 150 points in the 21 games he has played so far this season. Whilst Luke is an adequate goal kicker he has a less than adequate skill level. At any other club Covell would struggle to make a reserve grade squad. He is fortunate that the Cronulla Scummers are a weak club. In fact, a sportsman who is performing poorly would be referred to as having a "Covell". Often a group of youths who have poor social skills may refer to themselves as followers of Covell.
These youths should seek professional help.
