Byrne was garbage on the weeknd. They should do fine without him.

There was a lot of garbage from the Lions on sunday, Byrne missed some tackles. But for the most part, Byrne was one of the better players.

The Lions will miss him. They need some leadership/experience.

Byrne was no worse that the rest of the Lions. He wasn't dropping the ball from the scrumbase or letting Amos Roberts run past him.

BULLDOGS EDGE OUT VODAFONE AUCKLAND LIONS
The Vodafone Auckland Lions were just edged out 32-28 by the Bulldogs in their New South Wales Premier League match at Telstra Stadium today.
The Bulldogs had nine first-grade players in their line-up including former Kiwi winger Matt Utai.
Match details:

Vodafone Auckland Lions 28 (Sonny Fai, Constantine Mika, Scott Jones, Leeson Ah Mau, Malo Solomona tries; Steve Buckingham 4 conversions).
Bulldogs 32 (Damon Alley Tovio 2, Daniel Green, Tom Kerr, Adam Fielder, Jon Green tries; Jeremy Gordon 4 conversions).

Seems like the Lions did pretty well against the Doggies. I thought the Lions were going to get hammered. Anyone see the match???

A pretty good effort considering the Cattle that Dogs side had at their disposal. The Lions should really improve once they are more used to that calibre of opposition.

Not bad considering the first grade strength of the team that smashed them last week.
