James Roberts, Kevin Naiqama, Dean Whare, Eto Nabouli and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak pffer speed and class to the backs. Josh Mansour would probably be a great guy to have too. He is near impossible to stop one on one, so his lack of pace might no matter if the ball gets spread quickly.

Players like Mansour, Vatuvei, Reed etc will play backrow. You don't want to use actual props so you will just push everyone up. FB will play in the halves and speed outwide.

I pressume our squad will be: Moylan. Nabuli. Roberts. Whare. DWZ. K.Naiqama. Mansour. Soward. John. Segeyaro. Carwright. Robinson. Taylor. Brown. Cherrington

Food for thought in the future...

...if the WCC is being held in Australia then why not include the SL team in the Nines? Takes it to 17, add another team (Pacific Islands? NZ Maori?) and split it into 3 groups of 6.

Yeah it has merit...

Especially as wigan are playing a trial against the warriors 3days before the nines start.

But I think they are wanting to make it work with NRL sides before adding others.

Yet again its only showed on Pay Tv and NRL choose money over the fans. How about Channel 9 did they even contest???

What a joke, the NRL are destroying their own product to fill up their coffers.

Its simple logic that one friday game and a saturday game is better than one live game on friday, a delayed game(one of which is a broncos game) and an absolute void on Saturday but it seems the NRL just don't care anymore and they're Gyngell's puppet. We have lost all control over our own game and Nine are shooting themselves in their own foot by deteriorating and slowly killing their premier product.

I like this idea. Hopefully it succeeds in its first few years so ESL clubs and developing League nations can join in.

Do you think C9 would want to show two full days of a preseason Nines tournament?

I'd love to see every minute live on FTA but we need to be realistic.

I understand but at least they can show the finals or at least some games. Shows how much they care about the game really.

Even in the cricket world cup they only showed half the final and cut it off as soon as Dhoni hit the winning six, then it cut off to some shitty late night movie.

Even in Melbourne, they cut off the presentation JUST TO SHOW THE HANGOVER 15 MINUTES EARLY.

I mean i understand if it was scheduled but 15 minutes early! I know Victoria is not a league state but im sure people would've been watching it, not watching some other show because they can't stand the thought of watching an NRL game.

Its not unrealistic to expect some games shown but it is to expect Nine to care about its fans

Myngell probably said it wouldn't rate, so they weren't interested, just like the WC, and what a f*** up that was

It was Wigan going to NZ that made me realise how good the timing was.

So, if the WCC is in England in 2015 then we can have SL in A9s in 2016 - more than enough time to have it set as part of the calender and also a nice little change to spice it up once it has settled in.

I'd rather paytv than something geniused like 7mate.
Why so. They did a pretty good job (barring Halligan) during the WC. Yes they used sky/premiers feed, but their pre/post game shows were top class as well as their commentary team. Shits all over nine, and on par with FOX imo. But doesn't matter, as I'm heading across the ditch to go large... YEWW! :D

Im renting and the aerial here is f**ked so we watch everything through fox which doesn't have 7mate. I had to watch illegal streams

Titans have got this. Eels could do well, and I actually expect broncos to do ok with barba, how can he not be good for a few tries per game with more space?

What makes the tigers contenders? They have Koroibete who admittedly is the fastest human being on earth (much like idris is the largest), but one man can only do so much, and it seems they literally have no one else? Like f**kin nobody?
In fact one might say they are a joke of a footy side, and as a club a disgrace to the NRL?

I would have a quick look at some of the young backline talent the tigers will field in the 9's. They will have one of the quickest and strongest teams on the park. And Koro could probably win the tournament on his own he is that quick and strong :D

Armageddon.

They have 3 channels.
I'm sure people would rather watch the Nines than reruns of The Fresh Prince and Bewitched.

You get the feeling sport on nine is more about making sure it is not on another channel than wanting to give it decent coverage and audience creation?

Either that or they are total merkins with no idea how to use massively popular sports as flagship events.

Segeyaro is going to smash this up. The key is to go up the middle before you go wide. There will only be one marker as often as not and there will be a lot of room around the ruck. With his size, speed and passing game, he's my pick for man of the tournament.
