Audioslave..... Well I liked a few of the first album songs, Show me how to live, Like a stone but thought Cochise was just ok without being great (possibly overkill on the radio makes me not think as much of this song).

The album as a hole I found again, ok without being great.

Then I hear a new song 'Be Yourself' and I really like it. I find the lyrics to be very good and in my opinion its a top song. Havent heard any other new songs as yet.

As for RATM, I apologise to all those who love them but I found that 'killing in the name of' song to be one of the biggest try hard sounding songs of all time. I think it is stupid. That being the only song I seemed to hear of theirs on the radio I never looked into anymore of their music but man I hope it is a VAST improvement on that junk.

Being a guitarist I am very interested to hear 'Bulls On Parade' to hear what is so impressive.

Chris Cornell has one of the most distinctive voices I have heard. Whilst I was never a die hard soundgarden fan I did enjoy their music.

Disappointed with Out Of Exile, it's just not what I want to hear when I put on Audioslave.

Besides a few songs like The Worm and Man or Animal it sounds like a tame effort and more a vehicle for Cornell's vocals than anything. On the first couple of listens it really feels like the RATM boys are taking more of a back seat than I would like to hear. Whoever said it reminds them more of Cornell's solo album was spot on.

A 5 out of 10, just not enough rock.

They haven't really built on what they started with the first album in my opinion. I listened to the main descending riff in Your Time Has Come and it's just about the same thing as they did in Cochise, just with different timing. The first album, more than anything, had a few songs that really rocked hard and sounded fresh, like Cochise, Gasoline, Set It Off and Light My Way, and the pacers like What You Are, Like A Stone and Exploder had some really nice little touches from Tom.

I think Tom fails to fire on the new album - he's as unique as ever, but his solos and riffs just don't have the same impact and fluency that they did on the first album.

I picked it up yesterday but haven't given it a real good solid listen yet. The first album took a real long time to grow on me, but I learned to love it... I'll be happy if the new one does the same.

Great album.

The first four tracks are killers. They alone have cemented it in my car CD player for a while.

I've just been listening to the album for the first time in the last couple of hours. I'm a fan of Audioslave, mainly because they're really one of the few bands left carrying the torch from the last great music created in the early to mid 90's. It's a hard album to get into at first, it's reminding me a bit of the Foo Fighters last album One by One, solid rock but nothing that leaps out at you and makes you say wow but nothing that makes you want to skip to the next track either. Cornell's vocals like a couple have said already, are great though.
