AUS - Australian Rugby League Team Named

Australia squad: Shaun Berrigan, Matt Bowen, Danny Buderus (v-capt), Tonie Carroll, Petero Civoneciva, Matt Cooper, Michael Crocker, Craig Fitzgibbon, Craig Gower, Scott Hill, Nathan Hindmarsh, Ben Kennedy, Brett Kimmorley, Darren Lockyer (capt), Willie Mason, Anthony Minichiello, Mark O'Meley, Luke Rooney, Andrew Ryan, Jason Ryles, Matt Sing, Brent Tate, Willie Tonga, Shane Webcke, Craig Wing.

Its a good squad....although I have a few problems with it.

Tonie Carroll, while I think he is a great player, at the end of the day he is a Kiwi and SHOULD NOT BE THERE!

Berrigan? How did he even get a look in. What was he selected as?

Kennedy and Ryles. When fit, they are two of the best in the game. But they've hardly played this season and I would have selected probably Clinton and Waterhouse who have played all year and played well.

Kimmorley? He'll be picked even after he's retired. Sherwin was robbed!

Aside from that Im really happy with the squad. Its a thousand time better then last year side.

Lets get behind this team and give the Pom hell!!!

Orford for Kimmorley.
Kennedy shouldnt be there, neither should Carrol. Timmins should be there instead of carrol.
Apart from that not bad. I actually like Berrigan, he's a better centre than Tate.
Cooper and Tonga should be the centre pairing on form tho.

I look at it this way.

I cant imagine Carroll being in the top 17. Same with Berrigan.

We'll be able to name a VERY strong 17. This would be my lineup:

2. Rooney
3. Tonga
4. Cooper
5. Sing
6. Lockyer
7. Gower
8. Webcke
9. Buderus
10. O'Meley
11. Fitzgibbon
12. Mason
13. Hill

14. Wing
15. Ryan
16. Crocker
17. Ryles

I wouldnt be to dissapointed if Tate is selected ahead of say Cooper. Only because tate is a bit more experienced at Rep level.

I can't beleive they have Ben Kennedy over Trent Waterhouse. Kennedy is passed his peak and has hardly played all year while Waterhouse has been in great form recently. Brent Tate is overated and doesnt deserve to be there. I don't like the way they have selected Kimmorley on his form from last years tour and not this years NRL. They only selected two wingers so i would have added Matt King.

Kimmorley hasnt deserved to play rep football of any kind for years.

The Poms think Kimmolrye is the best halfback in the game because he's one of the few halfback selectors seem willing to select.

Imagine what they'd think if we picked the form players ahead of Kimmorley!

Atleast Gower got in the side and will likley start ahead of Kimmorley. I feel sorry for Sherwin and orford though who atleast deserved that second halfback spot.

I dont understand why a selector would refuse to pick guys like Waterhouse, Orford, Sherwin and Clinton and go with guys like Kennedy, Civoneceva, Carroll and Kimmorley!

I think Matt King will break into the rep squads next season.

He is a big winger, kind of like Rooney.

Atleast its better then the crap they served up last year! :D

I KNEW I'd missed a forward!!!!!!

I'd start O'Meley at 10.

Ryles in place of Civoneceva!

I'll edit the post to show my changes. ;-)

My Side would be

1. Bowen
2. Minichello
3. Tate
4. Tonga
5. Sing
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Gower
8. Webcke
9. Buderus
10. O'Meley
11. Hindmarsh
12. Fitzgibbon
13. Carroll (look who is the coach!)
14. Wing
15. Mason
16. Crocker
17. Ryan/ Berrigan (depending on conditions)- Ryan is an 80 minute player and with 3 backroweres that play 80 minutes in the staring side, it may not he be necessary and Berrigan covers all of the back positions!)

See I would think they selected Berrigan as a Utility back.

But I dont think we need a Utility back. The player we already have can move into other positions really well.

Kimmorley, Kennedy, Ryles, Berrigan, Crocker and esspecially Carroll shouldn't be there.

Disgraceful to see Caroll in the green and gold double V...
