Likewise. I also noticed Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, and Jonathon Thurston all wore some badge on their right sleeve. Smith and Cronk's were white, Thurston's was brown / gold / bronze.
Any ideas what that was all about?
Mal Meninga to mark milestones in Four Nations and bring prestige back to Tests

AUSTRALIA coach Mal Meninga will honour the Kangaroos’ greatest players in a pre-Four Nations ceremony to bring greater prestige to the green-and-gold jumper.
Determined to lift the profile of international football, Meninga wants greater recognition of Test milestones to connect Australia’s past and present stars.
Current Kangaroos players will for the first time wear a special insignia on their jerseys relating to how many Tests they have played.
Players with more than 20, 30, 40 or 50 games will have distinct markings on their jerseys during the end of season Four Nations tournament.
Cameron Smith, who has played 44 games, will have a differing insignia to that of teammate Johnathan Thurston, who has played 33 Tests.

Meninga, a 46-Test veteran, will use the Kangaroos reunion on October 9 at the SCG as a platform to formally reward Australian rugby league’s greatest servants.
The reunion has traditionally been held the day before the NRL grand final but Meninga has moved it back a week. That will ensure the squad can be farewelled by Australia’s greats for their Four Nations tour of England.
A centrepiece of the gala event will be an awards ceremony in which Meninga rewards past Kangaroos for achieving milestones.
During his 10-year reign as Maroons coach, Meninga saw the pride Queensland players took in being presented with the Dick “Tosser’’ Turner Medal for their 20th Origin game.
Now Meninga is keen to pay homage to retired players with rewards for reaching milestone Tests.
“The game has been around for 108 years but has never had something like this,” Meninga said.
“This is about celebrating the remarkable personal achievements of our greatest Kangaroos players and acknowledging their service to the game at the highest level.
“This is a tradition we will continue well into the future.
“Every Test match is important, but our current players will all be inspired to reach those milestones and all of the former players who receive their awards should be proud of their immense contributions.
“Our Four Nations squad will also be able to connect with some of the great Kangaroos players of the past who will be honoured on October 9.
“These are the best players in the country and to represent Australia on 20, 30, 40 and 50 occasions is an achievement which should be acknowledged.”
Retired Kangaroos legends set to be honoured include Darren Lockyer (59 Tests), Petero Civoniceva (45), Brad Fittler (40) and Wally Lewis (34).
I swear the ARLC came out and said that the front of the Australian jersey would stay clear as it cheapens it otherwise.
I may have imagined that. Either way, I hope it stays blank.
I hope you're right - it looks awesome without a sponsor.I swear the ARLC came out and said that the front of the Australian jersey would stay clear as it cheapens it otherwise.

It also means that the Kangaroos are the only team in international footy with an all round quality and classy looky jersey. I preferred our 2008 logo, but with Canterbury now making the kit it just looks great.
Unfortunately, the kiwis and England have cheap looking BLK kit that just looks second rate. I'd love to see the Kiwis get CCC or Adidads do their kit so they could get a bit more quality in their look. England would do well to get another supplier too, and I also think they need to redesign the England badge - it just looks tacky from a design standpoint - GAZF's was way classier.
Back in the day that's all they did, but in this era of brand recognition you have to have something that's yours. The England badge is garbage. We're a country with loads of history and crests and badges coming out of our ears and that's the best they could muster.
I would be happy with a 3 lion design like the cricket and football have. Something that's known to represent England.
No idea why Australia needs a Kangaroos badge what's wrong with just the classy looking coat of arms? Same goes for the blues shirt.

Personally I'm not a fan of just throwing a Kangaroo in the NRL base logo, but I understand the logic.
From a pure aesthetic standpoint I reckon the wallabies have the nicest looking logo, but their brand is pretty ordinary nowadays.
As for England, have you seen Gaz's work?

Check it out when you get the chance and also read his reasoning - as he points out the tudor rose was in the old England 3 lions logo too.I hadn't seen it. It won't display properly on my iPhone either. If it's the Tudor rose I'm not sure how well that would go down considering RL is big in Yorkshire and the Lancashire rose is much bigger.
I also don't like the idea of a rose because that's a union thing and I don't want anyone to think we're copying those posh wankers. Although their shirts are always much better than the RL version.
Lose the Kangaroo badge and the shirt would be pretty much perfect.
That's actually not bad and you've gotten I to my issue with the logo too - something I hadn't really realised myself until seeing this. I still like the simplicity of the '08 version most though - just perfectly embodies everything.I quite like England's badge personally. Simple, classy, and one that won't date.
I agree with you in regards to Australia's Kangaroos logo though. It was unveiled when then NRL did a game-wide branding with the badge-shape and double chevron in Australia. To me, it doesn't show the kangaroo very well as it kind of hides it. If they need the badge shape and double V for branding / recognition purposes, I did a quick muck around with it last year or the year before to something that I think is better, but still has those elements. I prefer the kangaroo to be more prominent, hence why I did it this way.
Your anti Kahu shtick is weird - the guy's been one of our best performers in both of our past two tests. And in a team of headless chickens he provides some much needed stability.
Credit to the Roos, they outplayed us in all facets tonight, but we were completely rudderless and lack someone who can kick.
SKD was awful, but I'm willing to give him another chance due to his experience. If he plays like that again though I'd drop him.
