Aussie and Kiwi stars heading for Super League: NRL in crisis?

Everyone is England is waiting for Ben Barba to serve out his 12 week ban (which should be in a few weeks from now) so Bennie can start to carve up Super League. That is a big loss for the NRL though, especially Cronulla. Josh Dugan is nowhere near as talented in attack as Ben Barba. So St Helens and Super League have grabbed a winner at the expense of Cronulla and the NRL.

David Mead is the most underrated player in the NRL. He will add punch to the Catalans attack. Wayne Bennett will rue the day that he let Mead go.

For those who remember the South Sydney Rabbitohs who won the 2014 Grand Final......Eddie Pettybourne has just signed for Toulouse Olympique in the RFL Championship (2nd division).

But since Toulouse have a chance of being elevated to Super League in 2019, the USA international rep Eddie P. could still get a shot at Super League.

Maybe you should do a bit of research before posting

I know that Eddy Pettybourne once played for South Sydney. I just got my years wrong.

I am certain that Eddy Pettybourne is a former NRL player, and USA international, who has signed for Toulouse Olympique, along with Sam Rapira, for 2018.

That comparison proves my point. SL is sucking the NRL dry of talent.

No, Albert. What it means is that junior development is much stronger here in Oz as the talented youngsters coming through will do a much better job than the players going to SL. It also means that SL has many many problems if their youngsters coming through aren't better than those players that they feel they need to import. Keep deluding yourself though, it's amusing.

Yeah when Tyrone Roberts and David Mead are the biggest names moving over, I think it’s fair to say there’s not a whole lot of talent leaving Australia. Hell just looking at the comparison I think the NRL is getting the better of it just on the back of Mahe Fonua and Sam Williams coming back. Both better players then any of the players going to England

There is oodles of Aussie talent and Polynesian talent and Melanesian talent already in Super League. For example Ben Murdock-Masila left Wests Tigers for Salford and is now starting out 2018 with Warrington. He is carving up Super League like he carved up the NRL.
