Aussie refs and the world cup

The question has to be asked, "Are Aussie refs could enough to ref and the world cup after the latest farce?"

 The sad truth is, they'd still be better than refs from any country not named England. And even then, it's not a given that the English are any better.

I can't see the British Rugby League letting a NRL ref being in charge of a Australia and England game anymore like they have in the past. The standards of refs in the NRL is clearly declining.

NRL refs aren't up to it. They need a 2nd ref out there holding their hand. Klein proved that earlier this year when he straight up gifted the game to Aus. LOL @ a "major infringement overrides a minor infringement".

There are enough refs floating around to ensure neutral refereeing. Just do it for the integrity of the tournament.

I'm guessing only one ref will be used on the field?

Test matches are a lot easier to ref than the NRL.
Just let open play, put the whistle in the back pocket, and see who is the better team.
In the NRL, referees seem like they've got a quota of penalties they must meet each match, and they love the square up penalties. Some penalties they give away seem to be identical to every other tackle in the match, but somehow it constitutes a penalty??

Some of the best matches have been Aus vs NZ with Silverwood refereeing. Others may disagree, but he's always let the players decide who wins, not his whistle.

It must have cost a small fortune to get the "Alex Ferguson" clock shipped over to Sydney for the Cronulla v Cowboys game.

The sad thing is, Australia will find a reason to complain and lambaste any referee who makes even the smallest error in one of their games.

The irony in that situation will escape them.
