Before I begin, I rate Austin highly and if it were up to me he would be the firsr choice at 5/8.
However it is not up to me and Potter has clearly chosen Anasta as first choice 5/8. Now that Sironen is fit, I don't see any reason to have Austin on the bench. We dominated with 4 forwards coming off the bench and Siro now means we have bench forward utility (as he can slot in at 5/8).

As I have said, I really like Austin but we have better bench options.

Important to keep him in the 17 at least to SOO is finished,as he will be required to play a role when Farah is away. So I figure it's important for him to get game time

I see what you mean by wanting to keep him included but even when Farah is in SOO I would rather have Luani/Halutau rotating at dummy half.
Its nothing personal against Austin but I just think it's silly not having 4 forwards on bench

Wondering if Austin will start to see more game time now Tedesco is back, with the view to retire Anasta once SOO finishes. Seems the loss of both Farah and Tedesco for a stint meant we relied more on Anasta for his experience than his prowess...

Anasta is a Spastic.
Wouldn't make the bench for most park footy teams.
Give his spot to someone who wouk d do a better job at 5/8, like Austin, Moses or even Keith Galloway.

I think Austin and Anasta should be picked at 6 or nowhere. I'd give Moses a go off the bench if required however I'd be happy to see him get a start this week. Its not going to happen but Moses should be there with Brooks. Anasta and Austin to State cup.

No matter who gets picked though I think ideally we have 4 forwards on the bench.

It should be a requirement that people calling for Moses to play should admit if they have ever seen him play or know just how small he is.

Needs to transition physically through Reggies for rest of year.
Good to go next year.

HE IS NOT READY.

I think Potter has made it clear he wants Anasta in the 6 no matter what. When he speaks about the team in interviews and Anasta gets mentioned I get the impression that he is more than happy to have Anasta in the side. I'm actually concerned that we might see him in the 6 again next season if Potter thinks Moses isn't ready.

Yeah I don't think Anasta will be dropped. I guess Austin would have to play 7 in NSW cup as I wouldn't want to see Moses development hindered.
It's a weird situation to be honest.

Physically and mentally i dont think he is ready yet,in one game this year i think he got placed in the sin bin twice during a match mainly through poor discipline.Opposition teams would not only be aiming their attack at him but also baiting him.

This is what I'm betting on. Once SOO is over, Austin will start in the halves. He'll start in the halves next year too with a view to bringing Moses on for short stints at the back end of next season. Braith to do more media and golf.

Sue plays up the middle so he is basically a prop but I would have 4 forwards on the bench as well.

It's not as though we are going to need a creative spark. Farah is back and is a total mismatch against Gidley so we've got the leg up on them there. Anasta should have been the odd man out from the start. Is 75% of his contract sponsor money is it? There has to be a reason other than "experience" that he is being picked.
