I'm sure they could and they have done in the past, The eels signed a few gridion players a few years back and well Balmain/ Wests Tigers had some russians train and play with them through the trials as well which was good

Nate Smith was training with Canberra and the Eels earlier this year. Nate played for Wyong for a while too I think. The two players who were at Parramatta knew the basics just didn't have the anticipation....
