All over now - Australia won by 9 wickets - they scored 1/172 in their final innings.
Matthew Hayden picked up his second century of the 2-match series - 101 runs off 85 balls, possible only because Ponting denied himself opportunities to score in order to allow Hayden enough runs to pick up his century. He claimed more than 500 runs for the series. He was named Man of the Series, while Ricky Ponting, with 169 and 53 (71) was named Man of the Match.
Simon Katich returned figures of 6/65 in his bowling debut match. A half century in the first innings will also assist his selection credentials.
A solid batting performance by Australia, but they struggled a bit, especially in the first innings, to produce a quality bowling performance - mind you Brett Lee's loss and the fact Williams is on debut, made it difficult. You can't expect a Gillespie or McGrath-like performance from an inexperienced bowling attack.
They now head off to India in the next couple of days - Wednesday perhaps.
