Aah, but that's what makes Immortal so endearing. They never took themselves too seriously. Witness the infamous "At The Heart Of Winter" photo shoot.

Abbath to me always sounded like a drunken Popeye. Loved his and Demonaz's guitar work though.

The whole album is full of pix like that. Minus the wrestling belts of course, heh.

Not to mention that it's one of the most accomplished black metal albums ever recorded. you'd never tell from the photos.

I love Pure Holocaust too which is more genuine BM but yeah, At The Heart of Winter is one of the great albums of all time.

What is it about BM bands looking like morons? :lol:

It's the most atmospheric music on the planet but the corpse paint makes them look wuite ridiculous at times (although Fenriz looks pretty cool on some Darkthrone album covers).
