I like listening to Kemp as he’s pretty measured. Points out issues but also balances it positives where it’s deserved. That “guru” bloke grates though. He’s very one tracked and says nothing but negative about 90% of the clubs and then claims he saw it coming when something obvious happens. A bit like Gus but without the actual runs on the board of doing something.
It’s hard with the halves issue. It’s an obvious thing the critics are going to bring up. AOB left himself open to a lot of criticism with the constant changes there. It’s obviously difficult though as although we have a lot of options they’re all fringe players that haven’t been able to lock down long-term starting roles at their previous clubs (or a complete unknown in Pryce - and even he was struggling to make FG in the ESL). I can guarantee there wouldn’t have been as many changes if we had at least 1 half that had been a consistent starting half before. In those cases even if they’re not playing well you back them to get through bad form because you know they can…in the case of our options there’s literally no history to suggest they’d improve if you persist with them so I do understand trying different options.
If AOB does go with Sharpe then good on him tbh, it’s out of the box. It might not work but at least we’re trying something different even if it’s already being criticised by everyone. That saying though, if he picks him to start the season, he simply HAS to stick with him and a consistent partner for the whole season. If he doesn’t he might as well go and jump in the Centrelink line now.
