best two centres in the world are gasnier and berrigan. theres no way cooper will get in over berrigan.
Berrigan is an opportunist centre but Cooper can make things happen like his mate Gasnier. IMO Berrigan was by far and away the worst centre in the whole origin series.

very hard when you dont get to touch the ball too much.
It was the same when Renouf played origin.
Centres will be Berrigan and Gasnier.

Interseting here are the stats.....

Berrigan 19 matches

12 line breaks
19 tries
5 try assists
195 Hitups
1882 metres gained
14 offloads
7 kicks

Cooper 18 matches

12 line breaks
13 tries
2 try assists
138 hitups
1562 metres gained
8 offloads
3 kicks

Yeah as the stats show, berrigan sets up less tries, runs the ball less, scores less, offloads less, kicks less

If anyone was gunna go as a back-up half, i reckon they'd take Barrett, not only can he back up at half-back, he can also play 5/8 in any "unfortunate" injury to Lockyer

Stats don't tell the whole story. Lets consider the fact that the saints have the best centre in the world, and the NRL's leading line breaker on the other side of the field, they've had their playmakers out during different times in the year, they've had their front rowers out during different times of the year, they were going like busteds early in the season as well. Berrigan has been on the end of countless pieces of Lockyer brilliance and has been part of a side that have been consistent all year.

so because the dragons sucked the 1st 6 rounds that should disadvantage berrigan??
Cooper and Gasnier do also have Barrett at 5/8 who has played alot of games this yr...its not like the Dragons have Brett Finch at 5/8.

Tru, i rate Cooper in the same mould as Bowman, good defensive centres who have a soild atacking game, and i dont think they would go past Origin level as well

No not at all I was just trying to explain why stats don't always tell the full story

Yeah but Barrett has played 5 games less than Lockyer and head has been out most of the year. I mean you know the team struggled abit in the halves when they had to play ALbert Torrens there.

Also if you want to play with stats

Gasnier:

14 matches
10 line breaks
9 try assists
165 hit ups
1791 metres gained
23 off loads
5 kicks

apart from the offloads and try assists its nothing special but still doesn't take away from the fact that he's the best centre in the world.

But you were telling us Cooper sets more up, and Berrigan is there on the back of others. If Cooper sets more up, then his stats would reflect that, and I though Barrett was a test player, all be it only when Lockyer isn't playing now. In fact Cooper has recieved no try assists in the last 5 games, has missed more tackles in the last 5 games than he normally does, and his other stats remained about the same. All this while the Dragons have hit impressive form. If he was as good as you are telling us, he'd be going gangbusters with the Dragons in form.

actually they do look good, when you consider he has played 14 games and still looks that good in the stats.

Uhh, the 1st 6 rounds are virtually irrelsvent when it comes to selecting a touring squad. It should be picked on current form.

this is a non issue...berrigan (barring injury) will be one centre and Gasnier will be the other.
