i've had this discssion with qite a few people so thought I'd throw it open for discssion here.

I have always said Don Walker for the reason that in terms of songs that are relevant to this country of ours Don pretty much has it covered (even though Khe Sahn' has become a drunken bogan song its still very good and Walker wrote it!).

Diorama is one of the most self indulgent pieces of sh*t released in the last ten years. The Living End are far superior song writers and musicians.

Living End sh*tts all over Silverchair. I agree their first one was a great album, but the rest were plain sh*tt, Diarama is the biggest garbage Ive ever heard. How Daniel Johns is mentioned as a great songwriter has got me beat, his new band is nothing worth listening too.

I can not listen to hard rock. Hell, one of my fave bands is The Beatles n i love Oasis etc. Just hate boring keyboard orchrastra heavy sh*t that silverchair put out. Would much rather listen to The Living End or Frenzal rhomb, bands which actually a) don't sound like ankers and b) actually seem to have a bit of fun rather than writing boring sh*tty music.

Oh and sorry im so "macho," Didnt know 5 ft 6 blokes who weigh under 60 kgs were classed as that.

Paul Kelly and Tim Rogers are "Hard Rock"? - I think you'll find the likes of Silverchair's 'Freak' or 'Anthem for The Year 2000' are far more 'Hard Rock' then anything Kelly or Rogers have written. Therefore, your argument is faulty and you are a twat.

The only thing silverchair have contributed over the past 15 years are the worst lyrics by any Australian artist.

I will take great pleasure in watching you choke on those words when the new album is released. I have heard around 14 songs that the new album that the band were trialling during "secret" shows around Melbourne back in June and it is ALL straight outta the top drawer....plus "Whats On YOur Radio", the current single, is all killer no filler!
