How good would it have been to see So You Think clash with Winx

I would still give it to the champ, f**k he used to make a mess of some bloody good horses.

Would be a cracker of a race, probably JUST favour Winx and that is purely just a 'gut feeling', but jeez I wish they had a race for a Cox Plate.

So You Think cost me an absolute bonanza when I backed Alcopop one day. Jeez SYT was a great horse.

They are no better or worse than the horses Winx is lapping right now. They are two superstar horses.

Criterion and Highland Reel are the best horses Winx has raced and they are both group 2 class by European standards,So You Think was beating Arc de Triomphe winners,King George winners,horses that would go on and win the Irish Champion Stakes,Lockinge Stakes,Champion Stakes in England etc etc etc

So You Think by the length of the straight over Winx

:shock: Disagree completely.. they were all consistent WFA performers over multiple seasons and all multiple grp1 winners. IMO a better crop then what Winx is beating currently, at bare minimum their resumes read a lot better then Winx's opposition.

I'll add Typhoon Tracey, El Segundo, Descarado.. There are plenty

Winx is dominant at the moment no doubting that, she has that bit of X factor about her. But SYT was an out and out superstar, went overseas and won multiple grp1s, he should of run second in an Arc with any luck.

It's almost unheard of for an AUS/NZ middle distance horse to do that.

I think it's pretty clear that Winx has a better turn of foot but I think SYT would break her heart especially over 2000

#Defeated a English Derby and Arc winner in Workforce in the Coral Eclipse

#Defeated Snow Fairy in the Irish Champion Stakes,Snow Fairy came out the year after and won the Irish Champion Stakes over King George Winner Nathaniel and 6 time group 1 winner St Nicholas Abbey

#Defeated Farhh in the Prince of Wales Stakes,Farhh would later go on and win the Lockinge Stakes and also the Champion Stakes in which he defeated 7 time group 1 winner Cirrus Des Aigles,a English Derby winner in Ruler of the World,a Breeders Cup Turf winner in Main Sequence and a Coral Eclipse winner in Mukhadram


I can't be bothered doing anymore but trust me its outstanding,the form around Winx is a disgrace in comparison.

Still think she would win though. She's doing enough to win and her Cox Plate was as good as you will see even from SYT. It is q great debate though shame they are not racing in the same era!

Winx is certainly not near Sunline but has the gears to smash SYT.
Was simply comparing the 2 at a similar stage of their careers.
Perhaps I'm still talking through my pocket a tad from not getting on Americain
in the cup that year :lol:

Maybe, but good 3yo middle distance colts have a massive weight advantage..

Savabeel won a Cox Plate..

Highland Reel as good as it was was thrashed by Winx. Can't see it turning the tables. I haven't seen a horse so far that is close to Winx over that distance.

The Valley was a biased greyhound track last Cox Plate, & Highland Reel was closer to the outside rail, than the inside..

Winx probably still wins on a fair track, but Highland Reel was an enormous run under the circumstances..

Might and power is about the only other i would put in the same class as SYT over 10 furlongs since the King, Sunline just behind them. Winx need's to continue her form and win at least another Cox plate to come into consideration.

Great horse but i thought when he beat the great mare she was just past her best, still definitely worthy of a mention though.
