As a general rule I don’t back younger horses against open age horses. Yes I have been stung before but imo more often than not they don’t measure up.

I gave Away Game absolutely zilch BUT I can’t ignore a horse with 47kgs on its back on a Heavy track from a good draw... it has everything possible in its favour to give this a shake.

Also there’s horses that will pressure her for the lead. I know Gytrash is in form but it utterly flogged Sunlight who barely held second last start

I’m looking around it. I hate 2 year olds in this race but Away Game will be my saver tomorrow it just may be that special

AG has won on heavy already & sits off the pace which should give it every chance. Anything over $4 is a good price I reckon.

With the South Australian Carnival on....

Locky's Caviar's Present Group 1 Edition

Morphettville

Race 1: Extra Time and Transplant EW

- Impossible Race, Zoushine the best of the favourites

Race 2:
She's Never Late EW, Harpuna WIN

- Harpuna SHOULD be winning, but She's Never Late brings the best wet form.

Race 3:
Mahais Angel and France's Boy EW

- Not a large bet, very even race

Race 4: Tigre Royale EW, save on Sopressa

- Tigre brings the right form, nice wet tracker.

Race 5: Nipperkin and Pretty Glass (huge prices) EW, save on Vanuatu WIN

- Value, value and value! The favourites are utter poison this leg!

Race 6: Garner WIN, I Am Eloquent EW

- Garner is the best horse, the second one easily the best wet tracker.

Race 7:
Zaydani (best blowout), Beauty Bolt (EW), and Wings of Pastrami (EW)

- Going for 3 roughies in the Oaks, not a great edition. These three should relish the rise up to the Oaks distance. If it was drier I'd be on Vegas Jewell.

Race 8:
Teleplay and Bella Vella EW, something small on Embrace Me (hate the jocket though). Already backed Away Game at 5's.

- Fav is utter poison, Away Game should be beating it home. I'm on 3 roughies that have wet form and have good form. 1200m might be a bridge too far for Bella Vella but I disagree should get the 1200m.

Race 9:
Shamino (best bet), save on Jungle Edge

Multi

Garner (place), Tigre Royale (place), Away Game (place), Shamino (place) @18's.

Sunlight has a bad alley but is deadly second up and has won way better group one races than this. Was good first up against a flying gytrash who was rock hard fit.

I actually think $3 in that field is good. You’d go broke backing 2yos in open group one sprints even with the weight advantage.

others I’ll be looking at on the card
Roselli sting (flying, same field)
Hasta la bullet and turf man (tough - down in weight)
Free of debt (draws better than it has all prep. Still wary of a bit of speed inside)
Jungle edge (wet track, shit field)

The concern I have with away game was it couldn’t get the job done in its 2 most high pressure races (BD and Slipper). Sure, it ran well but others ran better.

this is a quantum leap in pressure. Nice horse but this is a baptism of fire at the end of a long first prep.

would you back farnan or tagoloa in this?

I’d back Farnan yes. Away Game is better.

Farnan is a serious talent, no slouch placing behind that one.
BD run was a gut buster, McNeil had it 4 wide the trip & was still sticking on at the business end on a leader-biased joke track.
