Chelsea played much more attractive football than Liverpool and Man U in the last few games. Do you not agree?
Over the last few games, perhaps. But over the course of the season, Man Utd have obviously been playing better football.
It would be ridiculous to have a play-off, and would be very much an Americanised thing. All throughout the season, in every position, goal difference seperates teams who have the same points. It rewards teams with the best balance of attacking and defending, over the course of the season. Changing that would cheapen the game, putting all the glory in the hands of one match. I hated the way Real beat Barca to the La Liga last season because they had a superior head-to-head record despite Barca having better goal difference (Man Utd would have beaten Chelsea this way too), meaning the team who was better in 2 games was given precedence over the team who was better in 38.
Of course, it's all pointless now.
